Maybe you didnt read it because it clearly says the study was poorly done, and with a small sample size, which makes it virtually worthless. It doesnt say the study has "never been done again" it says the RESULTS have not been replicated. Which means nobody has managed to get the same results.
There are literally thousands of studies on androgenic alopecia that mention creatine. Go look it up, triple Black person.

I've read the rugby player study, its not a good study. There could be over a dozen reasons why their hormone levels were altered, there was no control and the sample size was far too small to make any conclusions. Other studies with much larger sample sizes and much better testing conditions were unable to replicate the results, which means is 99% bullshit.

That's a red flag then. Doesn't make any sense. How would DHT be higher with no other indicators? Creatine alone couldnt possibly affect DHT without affecting 5 alpha reductase and free T.
It causes an increase in DHT production. So if you were at risk from hair loss, or male pattern baldness, or have some thinning - not uncommon - it might cause that to get worse. But from what I recall of the study, it was from a 7 day creatine load. So maybe don't take it every day? Cycle it through, some days caffeine, some days creatine.
I got balding effects from it, I have long hair and I always lose a lot when I’m on it. I can tell in the shower and on the floor. I combed my hair and a lot more came out. It’s so crazy they don’t warn you. On steroids it’s a well known bad side effect but creatine was just as bad. That creatine just made me bloated too, I looked way more cut off it.

Andrew Huberman has talked about this before, a couple of times actually. If you haven’t heard of him, check him out. Neuroscientist who has made a name for himself over the last couple of years with his podcast, the Huberman Lab. He has guests on who discuss / review existing scientific data. These people are FAR more qualified to comment on this than 99.9999% of people here and indeed on YouTube.
And surprise surprise, both Huberman and one of his guests, Andy Gaplin, both conclude (on separate occasions) that creatine is likely to accelerate hair loss in those prone to AA given that it LIKELY increases DHT.
Clearly everyone is different and in some prone to AA it may not increase DHT levels enough to result in a change.
But just ask yourself - is it worth the risk?

I stopped taking it for a few months and my hair luckily grew back. I got a 30 day supply for about $25 after that and no thinning occurred. So the studies that have been done so far show "clinically normal" DHT levels and "no increase in free testosterone" that's used to make DHT. It's not conclusive but so far the answer seems like "no, creatine does not lead to baldness."

It causes an increase in DHT production. So if you were at risk from hair loss, or male pattern baldness, or have some thinning - not uncommon - it might cause that to get worse. But from what I recall of the study, it was from a 7 day creatine load. So maybe don't take it every day? Cycle it through, some days caffeine, some days creatine.

Neuroscientist who has made a name for himself over the last couple of years with his podcast, the Huberman Lab. He has guests on who discuss / review existing scientific data. These people are FAR more qualified to comment on this than 99.9999% of people here and indeed on YouTube.
And surprise surprise, both Huberman and one of his guests, Andy Gaplin, both conclude (on separate occasions) that creatine is likely to accelerate hair loss in those prone to AA given that it LIKELY increases DHT.
Clearly everyone is different and in some prone to AA it may not increase DHT levels enough to result in a change.
But just ask yourself - is it worth the risk?

So the studies that have been done so far show "clinically normal" DHT levels and "no increase in free testosterone" that's used to make DHT. It's not conclusive but so far the answer seems like "no, creatine does not lead to baldness."
