Jeff used to be great when everyone on the internet didn’t want to be a fitness influencer. Gave some really useful advice and workouts that I still use to this day. Now all he’s doing to trying to keep up with demand and stay relevant.

only reason I'd say not to do it is because it can kill your motivation at the end of your lifting session. It's harder to push if you know you've got another 20 min of cardio after your last set.

      >if you know you've got another 20 min of cardio after your last set.
20 minutes? That's frick all. Any other 45 min to 1+ hour chads in here?

        Reporting in.
For me it is minimum 1h total (not counting pauses) of Elliptical every day.
I will never understand people who hop on the treadmill for 10 min then fricks off.
You're not getting any benefits from cardio if you're not exerting yourself to the point the machine is soaked in your sweat.

My physio friend told me 20 minutes is good enough so that's what I do because cardio is pure misery.

it's not though. It's comfy jogging around at 4 am. Try running without your phone and blasting some moronic shit, it's meditative and makes you feel renewed

you burn calories at a way slower rate on an eliptical then on a tread mill or a stair master, i'm literally drenched in sweat after twenty minutes of stair master.

            Anonymous

I don't like the risks associated with going hard on high impact cardio. At least on the Elliptical I can go hard risk free due to its low impact nature. It is an acceptable trade off.
I do hear that stair master can be low impact if done right though, honestly I am willing to give it a try soon.

That's what I do. I would binge watch some sci-fi stuff after lifting anyway, why not do that on the treadmill/rowing machine/stationary bike?

I guess this is mostly just personal preference but I agree. I either want to do light cardio at the beginning to warm me up, or to do HIIT in a separate workout at least a few hours before/after lifting

I love running right after lifting. I do it all the time. Today I did Push day and then ran 8 miles immediately afterwards. My runs after a lift are always the best because I’ve already got blood flowing. It’s a level of being warmed up that you can’t get from dynamic stretching and walking

What the hell do all these guys even talk about for 10+ years. Bodybuilding was mastered in the 70s. Sport fitness in the 90s. If you just want to look good it takes fifteen minutes to learn how to work out and eat right.

I lift six days a week, why would I do cardio only one day a week?

      no
cardio must be done every day
cardiovascular gains should take priority over hypertrophy gains if you don't have body dysmorphia

having poor conditioning is not something to be celebrated, bro
there's more real life benefits to being able to last 30 mins straight in bed than being ripped but running out of breath in 30 seconds
you can still slowly build your natty hypertrophy gains over the years, they just shouldn't be your priority
just my two cents though, you can do whatever the shit you feel like

Do you know who I listen to for fitness advice? Myself. Its better to look up what others have done before me, and I do the exact same thing.
    Legs? Tom Platz.
    Chest? Arnold.
    Back? Dorian Yates.
    Arms? Markus Ruhl.
Theres no secret. People who rely on fotness influencers daily are idiots.

All fitness advice can be boiled down to

    >lift
    >cardio
    >count calories

Doesn't matter how you lift. Doesnt matter how you do cardio. Doesn't matter if you want to gain or lose weight. Do those 3 things and you can't fail

Does cycling to and from the gym count as cardio? E-even just a little?..

It's just one of those min-maxers who are technically correct, but most of this type of advice matters frick-all in the grand scheme of things.
