say you 5rep your training max and then set a new pr with 3 reps beyond your training max, it means more because you aren't coping your form to pump that 1rm number. if you can do 3 good reps and no more, that is a good way to measure your strength

Having practiced good form, you can do clean reps at like 95%, but 100% will never be spot on.
