>It's impossible if you're over 6 feet especially if you have long arms.
Sounds like a pathetic excuse to be weak
Work equals force time distance and leverage is fulcrum distance from pull over distance from load. Past a certain height it quite simply physically impossible to pull up the full range of motion unless you're a literal skeleton.
cope
190cm 95kg did 3 sets of 15 yesterday (but usually do weighted)
Teach me your ways. I'm 6'4 260. Even at my lowest weight around 187 i could barely do any. I have shit upper back that i'm trying to work with face pulls. I tried negatives but even then i couldn't do more than 3

How are facepulls gonna help you do more pullups? Facepulls will grow your rear delts, lower traps and rotator cuffs. I am 185 cm and 105 kgs, pullups fricking suck dick for me, mostly because my left tricep keeps popping when doing heavy vertical pulls. I can however still hit 10 very wide grip pullups or 12-13 neutrasl grip chinups.
You just gotta do chinups more often. I try getting 2-3 sets of wide grip pullups and then 2-3 sets of chinups into 3 sets of barbell rows atleast 2 times a week, you can probably do 2 sets of pullups, chinups and then rows 3x a week. Try to finish the first few sets without assistance, atleast aslong as you can hit over 5 reps, then use whichever band assistance you need to get close to double digit reps. If thats becomes to hard to negatives only, even with band assistance if you cant hit double digit reps.

I do them because I'm trying to fix years of bad posture. My upper back is shit annd want to work on as many muscles as possible by adding some accessories.
I like chinups and will add them eventually once I drop some more weight. Pull ups are more of an ego thing for me and want to be able to do weighted at some point

I'm definitely adding them. I just got back after a 4 month break and i'm making a daily stretching routine for 15-30 minutes and these+planks are non negotiable

That nerd shit's not gonna help you when we put you in the lanklet pit.
>It's impossible if you're over 6 feet.
You're either talking about a door frame pull up bar which is understandable or you're massively coping about your own weakness.
Either way go to a gym if your doors too short or stop being weak.
I have a 6'4" wingspan, I'm currently 30 pounds over my last cutting weight, and can do pullups just fine. What kind of blackpill nonsense is this?

me about 4 months ago, not flexing, I look a tad bigger now, but that's more because of the cut I'm on not the volume, don't have any other back pics on my phone, im work posting right now
>Manlet exercise. It's impossible if you're over 6 feet especially if you have long arms.
what if you are in a war, and you need to jump over a wall to survive? i guess that's why "manlets" are the majority of the human population, imagine not being able to pull your self up
I'm 6'1 with a decent reach and I can do a few good ones. Trying to lose weight to make them a bit easier since they're such a great exercise and I want to do them more often.
im 6'1 with shorter legs, longer torso and arms. i can do 60 of them in sets of 15 or about 25 of them with 35lb weight on me. stop being a fatty. absolute killer of an exercise though, wonder if its actually worth doing them.
Pull-ups are great but as a very tall dude I find them incredibly difficult and the difficulty goes exponentially up with each rep. 5 reps might be good, the 6th rep is hard and by the 7th rep I can barely even crawl myself up, let alone control form and shit.
Being tall is very unironically worst for calisthenics and a lot of movements are serious impaired by being tall.
am 6'6, around 97kg. Used to do weighted pre-covidu times now am getting back into gym and using bands to ease myself back into. anon above is right, they are good test of overall strength.
Lol, gay c**t. I'm going to do some now just to spite you.
Pullups are the ultimate filter because they require you to actually have a good strength to weight ratio rather than being a fat pig that bounces 200kg off your belly while in a sleeping position.
i fricking love pullups, you feel like an ubermensch doing them. i'm dyel but i love to pullup every opportunity i can. i'd do them every workout if it didnt interfere with my other stuff
I hate them because its always make me sore and tired after doing it. For me its the hardest exercise and i despise doing it. just do it for the sake of balancing my muscle and aesthetic.
Right now can do 13 reps pullup/chinup at first set. And i always doing both of them alternating with 1-2 minutes rest and 4 set in total. While i hate but it gave me good and wide shoulder. Pic related
>was doing band-assisted pull ups >find out there's a wealth of evidence that it'll handicap me from ever doing full real pull ups >was only able to do about 3-4 raw, but managed to irk out about 20 across multiple sets and then did as many pull/chin up "Holds" as I could, followed by jump-into-negatives >have way more Lat DOMS today that I have ever had
We're all gonna make it bros. I gotta grease that groove.
Is using a narrow grip on these cheating? Recently hit a PR of 10 reps but I was using a tree branch (lol) so I could only position myself to around shoulder width
How come I can progress on weighted chins and not weighted pull ups? I also feel my back activate a lot more on chin ups so maybe I'm just not doing them right.
Lats are a thin muscle, despite covering a lot of your back, so it can be hard to develop strength in them. Just to be clear, you're going chest-to-bar with scapulas pinched, right?
I don't think the problem is lat strength just that I'm not activating them correctly. I can do chins 3x5 with 80lbs added full rom yet doing the same for pull ups with 45lbs added feels difficult.
i recently gained 10 pounds and now pullups are way harder
Pullups are the ultimate test of fitness.
Manlet exercise. It's impossible if you're over 6 feet especially if you have long arms.
imagine being so dysgenic you can't even pull yourself up.

unholy cope, I'm 6'0 and do 3x12 reps with added weight. You're just weak.
can confirm
im 195cm/95kg and cant even do 2
protip: if being a lanklet was actually good evolution would have made everybody a lanklet.
lmao I have a 6'4 natty friend with a good amount of muscle who does 20 pullups with a perfect form. You're a weak homosexual
>NOO I'M TOO TALL AND STRONG TO DO CALISTEN-ACK
What's your excuse now? Get good.

You don't even need muscle to do them, you just need to be thin.
if you can't do 10 pullups you aren't fit, simple as.
love this exercise...it separates the fatties and bloatlords from the true aesthetic masters..
Pull-ups are great but as a very tall dude I find them incredibly difficult and the difficulty goes exponentially up with each rep. 5 reps might be good, the 6th rep is hard and by the 7th rep I can barely even crawl myself up, let alone control form and shit.

I'm 187cm and this is literally me. 7 reps is my current max.
Did 2 pullups at the gym today, i've previously only been able to do 1. feels good man
I would frick this exercise if I could that's how much I love it yes.

Pull-ups are based because they filter dyels and fatties alike
The only thing that pisses me off is that they're hard to progress/easy to plateau on
i fricking love pullups, you feel like an ubermensch doing them. i'm dyel but i love to pullup every opportunity i can. i'd do them every workout if it didnt interfere with my other stuff

Narrow grip works more the arms, wider grip works mainly the back and shoulder areas.
Do towel pull ups with holds at top position for real arm and back gains.
No shit sherlock, weight is weight.
Bros. I finally repped out 3x5 of +65lb weighted pull ups.
5’9 Manlet @ 176lb
