I'm so tired of this. You just need to do high rep calf raises (5x20 or 4x25), later on do the one legged version or add weight. Uphill running or going up the stairs. Running trail or on uneven ground. It's just that easy, but it takes some time.
I have 19 inch calves and all I did was be a fat frick
Calves are a muscle that benefits from tons of low level exercises, which is why they're so hard to build
You need to be working them constantly
if you're 6'1+ and never been a fat frick in your lfie you're just gonna have to make peace with the fact that your calves will always be shit
training them is pretty much pointless and the brutal DOMS aren't worth it
because they are constantly in use even after you lost all your weight
if you would lay around and not move for a year they would eventually wither away
I'm just about 6'1 in the morning rounded-up and have never been a fat frick and my calves are stunning. Maybe it's due to all the physical activity I used to do growing up. I LOVE my calves.
I was blessed with naturally massive calves, they were larger than most trained people I know even before I started lifting.
Those I've seen IRL who did make some significant calf gains did lots of low intensity, high frequency work, as others ITT have said. They are probably the one muscle that benefits more from activity outside the gym than inside it.
I had bigger calves when I was 1r5 than I do now at 28. At least the muscle if not the entire circumference of my lower leg.
The trick autistic levels of jump rope. I boxed when I was 13-15 and every session we would jump rope for like 10 minutes at different speeds, double jumps alternating legs etc. and then boxinf itself involves a lot of bouncing on your feet. Everyone had huge calves. Didn’t even need weights
I used to be a genelet-copeist but honestly just do a mix of high volume body weight calf raises and weighted calf raises, hill sprints are also good for these. It is easier to build big calves if you go into fatty mode for a bit and just play sports with sprinting and jumping like basketball.
just walk on the balls of your feet

Climb mountains
1. Take a backpack and fill it with rocks or other heavy shit.
2. Find a long flight of stairs.
3. Go up and down them stairs.
Walk up hills. My calves are big and i've never intentionally trained them
Smith Machine calf raises, aim for 20-25 reps
Alternatively walk like an autist and be overweight

I did monday 105 reps across 3 sets with small 7.5kg weights in each hand and my calves are killing me.
I can't stand fricking straight.
15kgx3x35
Why I did that? Because I the calves are high intensity, you use them all the time while walking and you need to wok them with high volume.
I think it's still worth training them
mine grew less than a centimeter but look significantly less shit now

Seriously, why does having been a fat frick in the past give you massive calves which never go away even when you get super lean? What's the secret?

man i dont even give a motherfricker
you should only give a shit if you have literal invisible calves or if they are comically small
i cant be arsed
>calf doms that linger for days and make you unable to walk
