For me it’s low bar. Why? Because I’m not a competitor or bodybuilder and I want a squat that incorporates as much muscle as possible for general strength and muscle gain.
Do both. I started alternating between the two every two weeks and noticed I began improving my squats much better than I ever had when I did only one or the other.
Depends on your goals. They’re both good.
Low-bar is more of a hinging movement than high-bar and you can incorporate more glutes and hamstrings which takes some of the load off of your quads.
I squat 4pl8 and I literally do not know what the difference is or if I'm capable of squatting a different way from how I do. I just slide under the bar and there's only one shelf for the bar to sit on on my back
High bar.
Low bar puts too much shear stress in my lower back. I used to love it, but since I got my sciatica unfricked, I'm playing it safe from now on.
Doesn't matter. Just increase the weight and stop worrying about this shit until you squat at least 5pl8.
front squats, best quad activation
front bar hurts my wrists
>wahhhh I’m a little b***h and f-front squats h-hurt my w-wists
warm up your wrists and improve your shoulder mobility
Rest the bar on your shoulders
Do you have it in the press position? lol
Front squats are for homosexuals
>best quad activation
>upper back fails before quads every time
no one with a big front squat does only front squats.
you want quads, high bar
you want ass, low bar
you want to be a meme, front squats
cringe. front squats are based as hell, show me someone that can front squat 405 and I'll show you someone with huge legs
Not him but I'll show you this super frickin jacked dude at my gym that I saw hit 405 for 2 a good few months ago

This for me. I don't need to be the strongest. I just need to be strong at all.

mid bar

Low bar feels so unnatural and unsquatlike to me. Isn’t it basically doing the same as a deadlift too?
I’m on team high bar.
>the same as a deadlift
Not even close
Do both front squats and low bar
For me, it's safety squat bar squats
Zercher, they work your arms and abs too
Low bar as it is the squat most people can comfortably do without depth issues, we are naturally more inclined to squat at an angle anyway.
>naturally inclined
i don't hate lowbar but no one will EVER squat like rippetoad without being trained to. it's completely unnatural.
High bar because I hate change and it's what I started off with.

Everytime I get in high weight with highbar my knee hurts. I've had this happen several times over 8 years. I just lowbar now and leg press.
