Need some inspiration for getting my protein in. What do anons eat?

I eat a fuck ton of whey protein. It's hard to get so much protein in daily. And it costs so much fucking money.

      Anonymous

Expense is no object. Im wanting to get my protein from real food and not bullshit powder.

      Chicken, beef, pork
      With
      Rice, taters, couscous
      And
      Veggies

      Couscous might be an idea.

      beef
      pork
      chicken

protein shakes, chicken breast and eggs

Looking for recipes. Inspiration to cook something different other than the seasoned beef/rice/veggie I make everyday.

A bottle of herbs that you shake on your food like salt costs maybe $2. This is certainly beyond you, but you can grow most herbs at home just once then have them free forever.

seriously try sardines. if you're bulking get the ones in olive oil, if you're cutting get the ones in brine. if you like them, which could end up being the case, they're also a top tier micronutrient source.

You’re a fucking idiot. Whey is the most digestible fastest absorbing protein. I’d eat it all the fucking time but it’s way more expensive than getting from food since the whey I use isn’t amino spiked and full of arsenic like shit tier euro and pajeet whey.

Yup. The traditional foods are all fermented. There's a reason the Japanese fermented their soi. They probably knew it was effeminizing. I'd wager the fermentation reduces the effects of isoflavones as well, but there are no tests or studies on it; can't say with any degree of certainty.

Ah yes, the same tired old studies every vegan posts to claim their bitch tits are just fat from meat toxins.
              1. Mark Messina, soi lobbyist.
              2. 40mg of isoflavones is nothing. You get more from 1 scoop of soi protein. Again, proving my point.
              3. Soi isoflavones are compared against milk proteins. No significant difference. So why not just take whey and drink milk hm? What happened to that crazy estrogen in milk? And then there's this
              >61.7±7.35
That's their high isoflavone content. So if less than 70 mg of isos per day is "high" and you say we should eat 300mg of isoflavones per day just from some tofu and soi protein, you're telling people to eat greater than 4x the upper limit of soi isoflavones. And you think it'll be just fine huh? Why don't you take 4x your upper limit of iron or copper and see what happens.
              4. TYPICAL FOR ASIAN MALES. what is that? 40-75mg of isoflavones. Just like I said. Also you should read your studies because in this one, they specifically reference the bitch tits case
              >The subject described in the case report (8) was said to have consumed 3 quarts of basedmilk daily, an amount (assuming it is made using the whole basedbean) that would be expected to provide approximately 300 mg of isoflavones (the authors suggested 361 mg) (46). In comparison, typical intake among older men in Japan (46) and Shanghai (77) is approximately 40 mg/d. Clearly, excessive intake of even very nutritious foods can produce untoward effects
and even Mark Messina, soi lobbyist, admits you shouldnt be eating that much. That's potentially just two scoops of soi protein.
              5. They tested it with 30mg of isoflavones per day. Also in this study they found whey protein increased testosterone levels
              >the observation that total serum testosterone was higher with WPC supplementation following 12 weeks of resistance exercise training is a novel finding

              Anonymous

              6.
              >These recent studies in men consuming basedfoods or supplements containing 40–70 mg/d of onions isoflavones showed few effects on plasma hormones or semen quality
40-70. Once again, you will get more isoflavones from less than one serving of common soi foods.
              7.
              >5 vegans
              >400+ nonvegans

I got used to eating skyr or non-fat cottage cheese as a snack.

A pot of 500 grams of cottage Cheese has 260 calories and 42.5 grams of protein. Costs between 50-60 cents at Lidl. Fills me up a lot more than a random whey shake and it's perfect for a cut or to reach your protein goal when you really don't feel like cooking a steak or something.

that's the whole point of deenz. They are a small, short lived fish so they don't have time to accumulate heavy metals.

However, they contain microplastics at a higher level than other fish. Gotta pick your battles.

Need some inspiration for getting my protein in. What do anons eat?

Chicken/beef stir-frys with a couple veg and maybe some light rice noodle are pretty good. Tuna salad is pretty good if you can fit the fat with your macros for the day.

Lentils are good but you have to limit how much you eat because of their fiber content.

Chicken thigh sous vide with a lot of garlic, chilis, and onions sauce. Goes great with rice.
Whatever cut of beef is marked down heavily. Sear, fry, or braise as appropriate. Rarely needs more than salt and pepper. Chuck with a bottle of wine and some better than bouillon goes great with egg noodles.
Hard to beat three soft boiled or pickled eggs, a pickle spear, and ramen.
Pork chops are pretty great too as long as you do them medium rare, otherwise not worth the price.

      Anonymous

That sounds awesome and all but the macros on chicken thighs are ridiculously bad if you're cutting. Half the cals just go to fat which makes it hard to eat a lot without going over a deficit

        Anonymous

I'm lanklet so cutting is not on the radar for a long time to come. All the skin and fat in the thighs break down to make up about half of the sauce but it probably works just as well with breast if you added chicken better than bouillon and some gelatin. Sous vide is better for breast actually. You can't overcook thighs even if you tried but breast is a huge pain in the ass most of the time.

          Anonymous

Yeah I have a sous vide circulator that i used first time around for cutting. Makes some good juicy chicken breast but sometimes got that chewy texture if i set the temp too low. Fucking awesome thing to have

Yeah just never tried it with a breast. Never seemed worth it like it did with steak cause drying out the outside of a chicken breast just never felt right to me. I'll try it next time I make one sous vide.

                Anonymous

treat it like a steak, sous vide the breast 5 degrees lower than normal then finish it off with a quick sear.

Chicken breast, thighs, ground turkey and fish usually with rice, mac and cheese or pasta. I don't eat enough vegetables but I usually go for the cheap frozen mixed bags, carrots or spinach. Red meat fucks up my stomach so I avoid it.

                >ground turkey
turkey breasts are an excellent alternative if you can find them, much better flavor than chicken

                Anonymous

Get a split breast, sous vide it at 140 for 2hrs, then sear it skin side down until it gets nice and crispy. Then let it cool until you can handle it, remove the back and wish bones (super easy, just slide your finger between the bone and the meat).

Best chicken breast you'll ever have. I make it at least once a week, and split breasts are always way cheaper than the boneless skinless ones from the same brand.

I also have steak once or twice a week since getting a sous vide setup, since now I can guarantee that I'm not going to accidentally ruin a $20 piece of meat.

Pork is just shitty beef. Bacon, ribs, pulled pork are all great, but if you're having pork chops they have the texture of a very overcooked steak, even when cooked rare. There is no point.

          Anonymous

          >pork chops they have the texture of a very overcooked steak

          objectively false

            Anonymous

Trust me anon I've tried to like them. Just isn't happening, far too dry and chewy. And it's not like I overcooked them like my mom always did when I was growing up, I did a 140F sous vide for a couple of hours followed by a quick sear. Same thing I do with steaks. They just suck.

pork chops are really lean and if you just buy a whole pork loin and cut them out yourselfs they are like $2/lb. only thing cheaper is usually just those chicken thighs with skin and bones in. a good brine or marinade will help the texture probably

Yeah they're much cheaper which is why I gave them a solid shot, but if I have to force myself to eat them because it's not enjoyable then there's no point. A marinade might help I suppose, or the chops I was getting are just trash.

I might try it again at some point at a lower temp, but honestly a filet mignon is 100x tastier so I'll probably just stick with those

                >variety is the Hispanice of life
Yeah I know, hence my disappointment in how the chops turned out. It's only once or twice a week anyway, the rest of the time it's chicken, fish, quorn, tofu, etc.

                Anonymous

how do you cook your quorn, I did some on the convection oven and it came out a little spongy

It was good but you're the first dude I've seen who has also tried it

                Anonymous

I pretty much always saute it, usually as part of a stir fry, curry, or similar. The texture is definitely different to meat in that it's always gonna be a little spongy (it is derived from fungi after all) but I honestly kinda like it. Usually get the pieces but the grounds are good and their burgers are actually awesome as well.

I always keep a few packs in the freezer for if I just can't be bothered cooking or I have a bunch of veggies to use up but no meat, it's super easy just to chuck a pack of quorn in a pan, get it browned and then throw some veggies & sauce on top of it.

Honestly quorn is awesome, it's got great protein but also great fiber which means I don't have to eat 2lbs of fucking spinach to hit my fiber goal.

You should look into straight up mushrooms too. In my area I have to go to a restaurant supplier to get mushrooms but they got some insane shit. Oyster mushrooms, king oyster, lions mane, reishi, etc.

Sautee them in a little butter with salt and pepper and you can eat em just like that or with some rice and you're golden.

There are a few restaurant supply stores nearby but I've never seen mushrooms there, although I haven't been looking, always just going there for pots/pans/etc. Will have to keep an eye out for that in the future, thanks anon

for beef and pork i just like to do meatballs because they are cheap. put them in tomato or cream/swedish meatball type of sauce depending on how many more calories you need.

you can make pretty good gyro meat at home if you freeze the meat into a log and then when it is partially frozen slice thin strips off and pan fry. pita bread is not hard to make

beef and broccoli chinese type of dish is easy to make with some steak.

for chicken i usually just use a chipotle recipe (there is a yt video for it) and eat it like that or in tortilla, pita, salad, etc

My wife makes this sun dried tomato viniagrette salad dressing and always makes way too much of it, so I started marinating chicken breast (cut into strips) in the leftovers with some salt and pepper and air frying them. It’s so good I have been eating it four or five meals a week and still look forward to it every time. You can probably find something similar at the store (just make sure you read the ingredients).
Ate it with fresh beets and greens from the garden last night.

Both are delicious and found in many grocery stores and workplace cafeterias. Chicken, eggs, bacon, and lean meats are good too. The only reason you'd have trouble exceeding 150g protein each day is if you're eating too much of your mother's cooking or adhering to childhood eating habits.
