Depends on your genetics and your dedication. But atleast a year, loosing weight is easy - loosing weight to look like the girl you posted takes work though.

Doesn't matter how long it takes. Just be patient, and weigh yourself every day, record it, then take the average of your daily weight over two weeks.

If that 2-week average weight is dropping progressively, then you're doing the right thing. Don't focus on the timetable. Just keep at it and live a healthy lifestyle. You'll get to your goal.

Losing 10 pounds a month is not fricking reasonable at all if you're only 30 pounds overweight.

        >Losing 10 pounds a month is not fricking reasonable at all if you're only 30 pounds overweight.
Not the guy you're replying, but losing 1 kilo per week is fine at first when you're overweight. The problem appears when you are getting closer to your normal weight and wanna get rid of the skinnyfat look.
OP is 13,6 kilos overweight, with good diet and consistent work, aiming for losing 3 kilos per month is achievable.

First of all, you need to be on caloric deficit.
I would recommend lifting 3 times per week as a minimum and walk a lot. With this I would say between 3,5 or 4 months for not looking saggy.
Yoga is very good, but it won't help to achieve your goal.
Keep it up and update us with pics. Good luck, sister.

NGMI with that attitude. The biggest reason women struggle with losing weight is they are tricked into believing there’s some short-term strategy to losing weight. Instead of trying to lose X amount of weight in Y amount of time, focus instead on what fatass habits you can eliminate from the rest of your life and what healthy habits can incorporate for the rest of your life. Answer those questions and you’ll never be as fat as you are today ever again.

      t. Guy who lost 30lbs in 2017 without setting foot in a gym. The reason I started lifting is that once i lost the fat, i realized my muscles were pitiful

Diet matters more than exercise - get your TDEE figured out and hit a 500cal deficit. As ever, the timeline is 1week = 1lb. If that seems like a lot of time, well then you better get started.

It will take as long as it takes. It depends on how hard you work at the above mentioned exercises, how consistent you are and how your diet goes, along with some other factors that are more difficult to control or measure.

    >full body 2x a week
this would only possibly work if you were genuinely lifting hard every set. since you're a woman and I know for a fact you won't be lifting hard, you should probably increase this to 3 or even 4x per week
    >lower body focus
if you really have good ass genes (which I seriously doubt since you wont post a pic) then you don't need to focus on anything, especially not at the beginning. Just do the big compounds like every other beginner.
    >hot yoga 2x a week
That's fine but you need more cardio unless you're capable of extremely strict dieting. Which brings me to my last point, none of this will mean anything unless you count calories and eat at a decent calorie deficit every single day, no cheat days.

    Also, breasts or gtfo, fatty

Apparently I needed to explicitly say I'm in a calorie deficit. I am, I've already lost 30 lbs. I'm not asking how long it takes just to lose weight. I'm asking how long it takes to go from as fat as me to looking fit and attractive, which obviously needs weight lifting and not just dieting.

    >Prove you have good genes.
I'm 5'6" 180, meaning my BMI is just shy of obese (29). Even as fat as I am, I have a 30 inch waist. I'd say that's good genetics.

      Anonymous

Are you really thinking 150lbs at 5'6" is going to be any kind of attractive?

        Anonymous

        No. I didn't say I would stop at 150. I said I'm about 30 lbs overweight.

          Anonymous

          You said you're 30lbs overweight.
          Then you said you're 180lbs.
          180 - 30 = 150
150lbs @ 5'6" is still pretty overweight for a woman.

            Anonymous

Google "BMI calculator" and put in 5'6" and 150 lbs and then feel bad about how much of a subhuman moron you are.

              Anonymous

It comes up as one sandwich short of overweight. That 150lbs will be less than a single point away from being officially a fat sack of shit. You are also on a diet and losing weight (good job, btw, for real, keep it up) so you are half starved and from what you've said in this thread you definently haven't been maximizing muscle retention. So that bmi number fails to mention the part where you'll have catabolised every spare ounce of muscle on your body - that'll be 150lbs of pure, unadulterated, saggy leftovers.

Look. Keep up the good work, you probably look amazing compared to where you started, and 150 will be a truly transformative thing for you. But you'll still have a whole heck of a lot of work left to do.

To look good at 150 at your height, you’d need a lot of muscle. If you’re 180 and totally new, 150 is a good first goal, but ultimately aim for 120 if you want to look like the pic you posted in the OP.

Basically, you’re going to be grinding at the gym for 64 weeks, and you need a better routine as well.

do a fast walk on max incline treadmill for 20-40 minutes / day
maybe some light weights if you feel like it.
don't eat calories until like 5 o'clock. Yogurt or kefir is good for probiotics, a low/medium fruit like apple is fine. You want to avoid insulin crash.
2 weeks to start seeing results in terms of significantly increased energy levels and healthier skin. 2 months to seeing a lot of progress. 6 months to meeting your goal.
A pound of week is crazy easy if you're consistent.
Hot yoga is fine, I used to teach yoga and it will help you 2x if you also sort your diet out.
Lifting can be a good workout but is not as essential for females as it is for males.
imo there is nothing a woman can get from weights that she can't get just walking on an incline treadmill for 30 minutes a day.
