How long would it take going from pic 1st pic to 2nd?

My body type is like the 1st pic how long do you reckon it take me to achieve the 2nd?

I'm working out +20 minutes a day, i will up it over time to 30 & so on. Also I'm taking daily walks/hikes. I only drink water , but will switch to green tea to burn a few extra calories a day. I am eating around 1500-1600 sometimes a little less, Sometimes rarely i fast for like 24 hours & i don't binge after.

        Bitch I spend 2 hours in the gym 5 days a week doing PPL x 2 where I only do legs once a week because of a nagging knee injury. I do bike ride as much as I can as well.

        The biggest thing is just getting into the gym and finding your groove. Two hours is nothing considering because so basically gave up video games and watching television.

      Losing weight at least gets my close to that though you would think? I used to kinda look like like the right before my drinking i weighed around 145ish, & i had a thigh gap! So i'm sure if i would have lost 20 more pounds then i bet i would have looked exactly like that body type or similar.     It was doable in a few months for me. Went from 150lb to 130lb but I work out way more than the 20 minutes you’re doing currently. I workout 5 to 6 days a week, serious lifting + martial arts for cardio. Usually an hour or two each day! However, you can workout for an hour every day and not get fit because you’re not working out hard enough. So it’s a balance. I didn’t intend on loosing weight initially, it sort of just happened with a good diet and lots of exercise. Make sure you’re eating healthy and getting good sleep too.

        Ok so first you need to think about your bone structure and understand that even when you get to a great level of fitness you are still going to have that as your base shape. For example I have wide hips and broad shoulders so I will never ever look like the girl on the right in your OP pic.

        At my fittest I was 5'5" at 120lbs. I trained cardio 3 hours a day 4 days a week. Additionally I did calisthenics 5 days a week for at least an hour (this was way back in the day before I started lifting). Didn't track food but back then I ate like garbage because my mother hated me and wouldn't let me eat enough meat because that was for her precious baby boy. I subsisted on watered down milk, copious amounts of carbs and lots of free fruit. Lucky for me we had free lunch at school so I didn't starve.

        When I did start lifting I stayed around 130-135lbs and trained for an hour to an hour and a half four days a week. Cardio was 30-60 minutes 6 days a week depending on how I felt. I ate about 1500cal a day at that time.

        These days I'm fat again because I had 3 babies back to back and I suffered an abdominal injury during my last birth (lmao 4 hours of pushing and repositioning). I'm stuck doing recovery exercises for now so I can heal up enough to be able to start lifting again.

        The gist of this is that you need to exercise more. You need to be training at minimum an hour to two hours every day if having a body like that is your goal. You are asking how to become an athlete, and the only way is to be dedicated and to train seriously. If you push yourself and get to two hours a day you will see results in a year or so, maybe longer depending on your genetics.

            Thanks! Injury or death is always a risk during birth so I'm just glad I have a healthy giant baby and didn't need a c section. Recovery from that is absolutely garbage.

            You asked how to look like an athlete so that's what is required, time, dedication and hard work. Just the way it is. That said you can achieve a healthy body and a good physique with the time you do have.

            Fasting and eating at a deficit is the main way you're going to lose weight. It's not going to give you muscle tone but you will make it to a healthy weight, and you'll still look better than you do now.

            I know you're busy but just find one hour every day to exercise. Wake up earlier if you have to. Seriously, 20 minutes a day isn't going to do very much, although it's still better than nothing. I have four kids that are all at home with me but I still find an hour a day to exercise. Don't make excuses, just do your best instead.

              Sure, if you are already lean and eating so few calories already. But if you are overweight like OP then cardio isn't worth the effort for weight loss because you can do 2 hours of walking, get home and sit down for 10 minutes and eat all those calories back because you are exhausted. Actual swimmers lift weights too. To look good you need to be lean and muscular. Diet takes care of the lean part and nothing is as effective at building muscle as lifting, simple as.

                What are you worried about with the gym? I am an advanced lifter and have been doing it for over a decade, and I get being self-conscious about having your body on display or looking foolish or weak trying to learn exercises, but you kind of have to do it or accept the body you have. It gets easier as you get more of the body you want as well as stronger and more knowledgeable. Unfortunately you are not going to see dramatic results if you are doing things at home for 20 minutes

                I think you have the frame to get your target body from the picture in OP. It's helpful even if just for yourself to keep some photos of your body to gauge progress because it's hard for the eye to see such subtle changes when you're inevitably looking in the mirror every day.

                I also dislike exercising in front of other people for reasons that change by the day... a few things that help is just to put on a hoodie, wear a baseball cap low, and wear headphones. You can wear a mask if that's not enough

      I went from 175 to like 145 before from fasting & only eating 500 calories a day in like 2 months before meeting up with online friends my skin stayed really tight. Didn't want to get into the 500 cals a day thing because i know ill probably get roasted for doing that, I didn't do my research back then & stuff. If i do it as quickly this time around ill take collagen though.

    Realistically it depends on how competent you are but anywhere from 6 months to never, but probably a year or a year and a half. I would recommend you try fasting to lose weight and incorporate barbell thrusts.

    I would exercise a minimum of 45 minutes, ideally longer. IDK what you are doing for exercises, but I would privilege lifting/weights over cardio, as they will raise your basal metabolic rate (which is the number of calories you burn throughout the day even when you're just sitting around). Putting on some muscle is really the best thing you can do for weight loss along with mild caloric deficit. Don't be one of the girls who is doing all the exercises with 5lb dumbbells, as they're not going to take you very far... depending on what your body goals are, I would say deadlifting, squats, shoulder+bench pressing w/ DBs, pullups, and rows are a great set of compounds to begin with. Don't worry about "getting too bulky", as you will probably not unless you are on steroids or eating a ton.

    Do your cardio after weights and go for 30 minutes minimum. When you go into the gym, your body has energy stored in the muscles in the form of glycogen, which is more useful to lifting work than it is for cardio, so if you do cardio work first you'll use up muscle glycogen and your lifting work will be very difficult and bad. Cardio, on the other hand, can go fine without significant glycogen stores.

    Most people swear by intermittent fasting for fastest results and I do too for myself.
    Exercise time you should be building up to 40 - 60mins a session. Personally I do 5 days a week strength training at an hour each session.
    For women the compound lifts are usually the best especially deadlift and squats. Most women swear by glute machines and hip thrusts as well as a solid ab workout. Personally I go for 3 10min sessions of abs a week.

        Theres your first problem. You want to burn up your fat stores so shrink your fat cells yet you are resupplying them with saturated fats and trans fats. Have some roast chicken breast and rice instead so it is clean carbs and lean protein. Instead of sugar spiked buns and fatty chicken coating. Fat cells don't disappear they only shrink when their fuel stores are used up. Best to think that way when you diet with what you eat.

          i mainly eat a chicken sandwich everyday it's only 440 cals. Sometimes i have a lemonade or something with it if I'm feeling spontaneous or special that day. Good advice though, Something i definitely do need to work on. I don't like very much food , i do like eggs, maybe ill just eat eggs everyday? Idk i really need to just do some research on foods.

            Honestly sounds like your not gonna make it because by the time you stop stuffing about you will lose your drive to do it properly.
            When you are obese af, simple calorie counting works so well because there is so much to lose and the body is so deconditioned that any improvement is huge gains.
            But at least going by your pic, when you are fairly close to being your best, its when the finer details matter with food macros and exercises needs to have progressive overload. Which is why for example treadmill is better for running on than a park track as you can increase the incline which puts on a progressive load to a point.
            Deadlifts, squats, ab work, bench press, its all required if you want to look your genetic best.
