If powerlifters are so strong, why can't they use their incredible and universally functional strength to outclimb a relatively "weak" climber?

>he's still posting strongmen when talking about powerlifters
Dilate
Both are fatso fucks.
Those are depleted uranium plates btw.
Strength relative to bodyweight doesn't really scale very well as you go up in bodyweight. You see this in olympic lifting as well.
From a practical standpoint, there definitely does come a point where mass is so high that it becomes an active detriment to most physical tasks. So yeah, being gigantic isn't really "functional" in most contexts.
Hyperspecialized bodies are generally not very good at tasks outside of the specific one they've trained for.
t;dr being a 20% bodyfat fatty isn't practical
True, but honestly this is the case even if his mass was pure muscle. As mass goes up, there comes a point where even muscle is just more weight to lug around.
You don't have to worry about these kind of details as a natty, because big/lean/natty (choose 2).
Eddie is beyond 20%
>You see this in olympic lifting as well.
It's everywhere in nature
It's why an ant can lift 10x his bodyweight easily but an elephant can't even lift 1x
This, same with climbers. A capable physique should be able to manipulate weight other than yourself (most cases that demand strength are exactly that)
because he's carrying more weight
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square%E2%80%93cube_law
if the climber put on additional weights to make up for the difference he'd probably climb stronger, or if some sort of comical balloon system to make the powerlifter as light as the climber.
magnus put on a weight vest to match juji's weight and still outclimbed him.
It's all tendon strength, and climbers have insane finger and wrist tendon strength
Because Magnus nervous system is highly adapted to climbing motions of course he's super strong in that movement.
> Why does a professional climber out-climb some amateur climber??
This is how all of you sound
>nervous system
No. It's the tendons.
Whatever, his body is adapted to that movement extremely well.
>that movement
There are thousands of different movements. It's not a single movement, you ESL gay.
Well because he weighs 170kg lean while the manlet weighs 50kg lean
Ofcourse it's harder for the big guy
>lean
Look at the forearms of that climber damn.
I have weak forearms and wrist. I want forearms like that
>a relatively "weak" climber
He does pullups with 60kg attached. He can do 9 one-finger pullups.
I think you misunderstood what OP was saying, anon.
Magnus face is so skeletal it's both aesthetic and ugly at the same time
Magnus Midtbø can do one armed muscle ups, on what fucking planet is that "relatively weak" fatass?
The reading comprehension on this board is abysmal.
Lower body strength is kind of net detrimental for climbing. In addition to everything else stated.
Why did you post photoshopped version? Here is original
There is a lot of technique in climbing plus non-climbers don't have the finger strength for the more advanced holds
>spends the whole time whining and complaining, making shit up like how the holds felt like they were about to fall off (they weren't)
Why is Eddie such a fucking pussy about everything? I don't get how a dude that string can get that way with his fucking terrible attitude towards everything. It's like his insecurity is so powerful it lead him to becoming a world champion lifter. It's like the most impressive and most pathetic duality of all time.
>how the holds felt like they were about to fall off (they weren't)
I went bouldering a few times and encountered one hold which was pretty loose (I'm 78kg). There's always the possibility of not drilling them tight enough.
Only the real alpha Chads like him get liposuction
he was simply intimidated by the limitless chadness of MOGnus
