>“Undine rising from the waters"
>by Chauncey Bradley Ives, 1810-1894
You ever think he beat his meat to his own statue>?
Probably not, if he wanted to get his rocks off it was the simplest thing to get a prostitute.
>f he wanted to get his rocks off
usually you would use a chisel for that
there's literally 0 chance he hasn't hotglued that statue over and over again. every single inch of it has had semen on it.
They didn’t have hotglue in the 19th century.
anon I don't think you belong here
only 6?
>working out on the Lord's Day
Those gains won't help you when you're burning in Hell
>not becoming strong enough to completely eradicate concepts of good and evil
Luke 14:3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
Yes, you got your recovery day for growth and that's enough with calisthenics.
the only thing that could possibly be said to this question is "maybe, you fricking moron"
just redistrebute volume accordingly if you REALLY have to
can also PPL essentially, and train legs at home
I want to frick the statue
if it's a split sure. One of the big reasons why calisthenics tends to come up short compared to weight lifting is that's it's very exhausting relative to the same volume with resistance training and harder for joints and ligaments to recover from because we're using them in a mechanically disadvantaged way a lot.
If you're doing like full body routine every day you probably have do something like k boges stuff that has modulated volume and isometric days so you can go all year without injuries.
wtf bros light goes through it
why don't we make things like this anymore
we have better things to do, like looking at memes
Why is it that real women do nothing but these statues get me rock hard?
Because real women aren't rocks stupid motherfricker
Didn't understand the joke, you stupid motherfricker
The people making these sculptures would literally spend their whole lives mastering the craft and dedicate years to just one statue. The results are beautiful, but that's simply not feasible in the modern age with no other income.
patronage was a thing
art has always been life-consuming.
you literally lived on bread unless you were sponsored by the crown or some shit
see
even then the pay was shit.
this is a thread I can get behind (if you catch my drift haha)
that's a man isn't it
Because white culture is dying
You know why
/pol/
Unironically rampant unchecked capitalism
You don't even know what that means
>this piece of art commissioned by a rich nobleman
>capitalism is the problem
As we all know, the USSR produced many great works of art, poetry, and music that absolutely MOGS all of historys greatest pieces.
But what ends when the symbols shatter? And who knows what happens to hearts.
THEY'RE MAKING THE LAST FILM
We live in an image based society. Back when these were made there were not photos, only descriptions and portraits were made. Having images so readily available has made people less intelligent.
Reminder that this would have been garishly painted
nope, you're thinking of ancient greek statues, this one is from the 19th century
>why don't we make things like this anymore
You can still commission people to make things like this.
Because everyone who used to make these things are dead.
Yes but I would advise this with either built in recovery/deload weeks or splits in order to give major muscles a chance to recover once you hit harder movements. If you are not already doing bodyweight stuff I would start with 3 times a week and fully body until it a) plateaus or b) you find the whole routine exhausting, which can happen as one leg or arm moves work their way in and some portions of the workout effectively double in length.
I found for me that it made sense to split the days when I hit a strong plateau on hanging rows and assisted shrimp squats.
That's how I train for a year now. 2 sets of push-ups, pull-ups and squats 6 days a week. Good results so far
Pics? Curious about the results of just 2 sets.
I simply love how OP derailed his own fricking thread with that sculpture pic, well done!
it's funny how you post here nearly full time, but as soon as you stop, nothing of you or your format stick
it's like a kid who thinks he owns a beach because he writes his name in the sand every low tide
Sculpture thread? For me it's Bernini
Just got back from Roma.
Bernini was a fricking beast...
These are amazing. Post moar
Properly executed calisthenics should be compared to lifting, but if by calisthenics you mean some dumb approach like 30 pushups and 50 crunches, then yeah, nothing should happen.
I'd like to watch that statue have sex with statues carved out of onyx if you catch my drift
Makes you wanna spread dem cheeks open and start frickin
Oh my fricking god the things I would do to this statue. These sculpters were so fricking based.
Damn is that really just marble? Fricking gorgeous.
It's fine if you're doing it as a ppl split
