I agre with your point about pizza & burger joints, my homemade burgers taste way better than the ones at my local burger restauraunts / fast food joints
but i find it really difficult to make a pizza so thats why i choose to buy it from pizza restauraunts

still.. allow yourself to spoil yourself, guys ! a pizza once a week wont do shit if youre actually going to the gym 3-5 times a week

I mean a pizza can have more energy than what you expend in 3-5 gym sessions (if youre a twink or lazy) since the average gym session doesn't burn much energy at all.
a pizza a week can definitely ruin a cut.

You don't have to track calories down to the decimal, you fucking idiot. Just log each meal, don't snack, and you'll have a good idea. As for calories out, just Google a TDEE calculator. It's not an exact science, just eat less/more and be honest about how much you exercise. If you count calories, you’ll end up being forced to “eat cleaner” because it’s the only way to keep calories low while not starving. But counting calories helps people like me who struggle with being aware of how much food I’m putting into my mouth. It has resulted in me making huge diet changes just so I can keep calories low.

CICO just means that energy balance is what determines weight. This is a basic tenet of physics. The advice to count calories is usually only applicable in the beginning of a diet and specifically for people who don’t have a good grasp of how much they eat. It generates diet awareness. After a few weeks or months you get to know what X calories feels like, and hopefully you have altered your diet. Then you can kind of wing it.

No one is advocating eating 2000 calories or donuts a day. You can and you will lose weight. But have fun losing muscle and tendon tissue, and feeling like fucking shit all the time.

obviously youll lose fat by simply being at a caloric deficit, the body needs to exhaust energy from somewhere
but depositing "any energy, regardless of which" as you please without any consideration for the vital functions
certain nutrients has in your body is where cico just dont make any sense

i havent argued over these points in english so it might come out wrong or im using the wrong words
but some nutrients either inhibit or enhance the effects of others in ways that makes it unnavoidable to see
the essential needs for balance in the diet for optimal health for thermic effects and hormonal properties
just like the body will experience from most commonly known variables such as lack of sleep which is
at least a point that everyone will agree with.

you will definitely be able to lose fat from the caveman mindset of "CICO" short term
but long term, your body will reach a point where itll fight back against your lack of consideration
for the best interest of the needs of your own body because you might be a very reslient at heart and mind
but youre still cruising with a god complex thinking inside of a human body.

CICO is the only way I can lose weight reliably. Otherwise I take too large of bites, fill my plate up too much, etc.

The energy in - energy out dictates how much cumulative energy (and mass) remains in the system. This is not debatable.

The question is how do you ensure that more of that mass is muscle and not fat. That’s where protein and weight lifting come in to play. CICO is only relevant for body weight.

I make pizza and burgers at home, but it's just occasionally, and I know the portions and calories and plan around the meals so I don't go overboard. On occasion we order pizza from a local pizzeria. The slices are high in calories for what they are size wise, so I got in the habit of ordering a very filling but low calorie menu item and then just having a slice or two of pizza so I get the taste but also feel full. I usually order a chicken pita now, it's quite filling but something like 420 calories so I eat that, wait a few minutes, and then have a couple of slices of pizza. The meal ends up as 620 calories which is a bit on the high end for me but it's not crazy and it lets me on occasion taste something I really enjoy but not be a fat fuck and gorge myself on it.

Lets try to think about this rationally. Lets say you mostly eat a very healthy diet, for the entire week. You eat roughly the right amount of calories, but also actually good foods (because CICO isn't ALL that matters). You are getting a ton of micro-nutrients, fiber, omega 3's, and you aren't bombarding your insulin with sugars and processed carbs all the time.
THEN..., once a week, you eat a pizza. Which has, let's say, 1500kcal. But when you eat this pizza, you make sure that it roughly fits into your calories for that day, and the only others things you eat that day is some lean protein (to hit your protein without getting too many calories) and some vegetables to get some micro's and fiber. You might go over your calories a little bit that day, but it's only by a little bit, and you are eating a relatively strict diet on the other days.

Tell me honestly, by using your own common sense. What exactly do you think is going to happen? What effect is this pizza (that you eat once a week) going to have on the grand scheme of your diet/progress?

The carbs will cause an insulin spike taking you out of ketosis causing you to be tired, stop burning fat, have a very short energy spike then be ruined for days.

Yeah of course, if you are doing keto then eating pizza isn't such a good idea. But if you think a single insulin spike a week is going to mess up your insulin sensitivity than you have deeper lifestyle problems and you are trying to find a scapegoat as a quick fix to your problems. Keto can be a tool to target insulin sensitivity, but it shouldn't be a permanent diet, and getting a single large insulin spike a week definitely isn't supposed to mess you up. People have been getting large insulin spikes ever since the dawn of man and they started eating fruits. It is only when you get them too often AND you are a lazy fatass that it actually becomes a real problem. A ISTizen who lifts, runs and eats an overall healthy diet does not have to worry about 1 large insulin spike a week from pizza at all.

You will be fine physically, but it could lead to binge eating/unhealthy eating habits if you do it so regularly. If you are strongly disciplined and do exactly as you said, you'll be fine. The problem is that most people aren't as so strong willed. Pizza once a week can easily turn into pizza and beer once a week. Or pizza, fries and dessert once a week. Then pizza only on the weekends. They you skip the gym the next day because you're hungover and undernourished.

As previously said by other anons.. those things aren't bad, they're just dense in calories. You can eat those, but you best not to fuck your macros up or your calorie intake.

Most meals can have a place in diets. Pizza and burgers are great bulking meals. Also whenever you stop cutting, and get some muscle in, your calorie intake should be high enough to be able to fit those meals somewhere.

Now. Remember one thing. The bad thing about processed food like the pizzas, burgers, kebabs, etc, you buy in supermarket or fast food restaurants is that.. they're processed.
It's still ok to have them some time or another. The thing is that these foods ARE THE DIET of many people. Many people who are unhealthy af or plain fatties

I had to fight tooth and nail to get from 170 18% BF to 225 14.6% BF where I am now.

You can eat whatever for a meal a day if you eat enough protein generally ,just have some chicken or low fat cheese for the other meals.
Basically a 2500kcal meal is ok if you eat like 300-400 kcal for the other meals of the day ,but you Will get fat if you do this every day.

I don't eat breakfast, only fruit/small protein for lunch which leaves me plenty of calories to eat whatever the hell I want for dinner. Been between 140-150 for years now. Mind you I'm still skinnyfat but the point is you can eat whatever as long as you're not gaining weight.

There's an authentic Italian pizza place next to my house. Once a week I'll get a large pizza and eat it for dinner / save a couple slices for breakfast the next day. As long as you aren't eating some Papa Johns "salted preserved dough, salted preserved cheese, salted preserved toppings, salted preserved sauce" level shit it's not a big deal. The thing that makes goyslop pizza so unhealthy is the amount of preservatives and filler ingredients, nothing is inherently unhealthy about dough with tomato sauce and cheese on top.

I eat fries a lot but I make them in the air fryer, I don't eat oil fried stuff. Not a big fan of other fast food. I wouldn't mind eating it at all but generally speaking I eat out of necessity and when I am hungry I love every meal, even if it's clean.

I spent most of my first 7 years lifting eating only what was good for growth and recovery
but reaching around 8-9 years, i began to realize that I felt inhuman to some degree

I forgot how things tasted and began to think back to my childhood for "taste references"
and realized how I had actually become "uncultured" within the absolute most basic sense
of being cultured with food and drink that i genuinelly felt retarded, like really autistic.

im not saying this to express myself for anyone here not to overthink about your food and dieting
but if you have no realization of what foods, sweets/treats/pastries or which makes you feel that is
the absolute most satisfying to spoil yourself or treat someone else to something nice ?
Then youre really weird, it just is..

nothing will happen if you simply eat pizza once a week but if you become a total pig eating fast foods,
sweets and pastries multiple days a week ? youre just a fatty that will get fat and healthy becaus you have the fatty mind

I eat pizza and burgers, but pretty well only eat home-made. I rein myself in portion wise, unless I'm at my parent's and my mom has made pizza, and then I fill myself like a fucking retard because I'm a good boy with a healthy appetite.

Not often, most of my diet consists of homecooked healthy meals and i just don’t typically gravitate towards making pizza and burgers (although theres tons of healthy recipes for them out there) but if friends are going out and invite me out to eat and it’s a burger or pizza place i’m not gonna be a stick in the mud and say no. you’re allowed to indulge once in a while without repercussion as long as you’re consistent the rest of the time

You shouldn't be eating out much, but when you are, a burger is fine. Don't order the heart attack special, and if they offer grass-fed get that. Avoid fries and substitute when you can—those are almost always deep fried seed oil monstrosities. If getting a pizza, don't get one with processed meat (bacon, sausage, ham, etc.), nor those with BBQ sauce or ranch sauce. Hopefully the restaurant didn't cheap out and replace their extra virgin olive oil with a seed oil. If they didn't, a traditional pizza is not so bad aside from the white dough and excessive cheese. Ask for light cheese or thin crust when you can! In general, I find the totally stacked veggie pizza is usually the healthiest by a mile. You'll get some micronutrients that you may not have seen all week.

When cooking at home, burgers and pizzas are at most once a week items. Try not to have leftovers and end up actually having many servings over multiple days. The good thing is you can eliminate all the bad stuff when you make it yourself. Sprouted whole grain bun and grass-fed patty for the burger, and extra virgin olive oil and overall light ingredients for the pizza. In my experience it's not really worth the effort it takes to make a healthy pizza, so it's better to simply have a great pizza from a restaurant every once in a while. Burgers are really easy though.

Anyone saying you cannot ever eat "junk" food when you get fit are dyels trying to pretend to be experts. I remember seeing a video of Mayweather eating two big macs (less than 800 calories) and the comments were filled with Karens explaining that he stays lean because he's such a tremendous athlete. You don't even need to do "cardio" because aerobics only burns like 300 kcal if you go hard for over an hour everyday which no adult has time for.

The whole thing about "junk food" is just social bullshit anyway. A baked potato at home is healthy but get it at a BBQ place and it's junk food.

because restaurants want to make it as tasty as possible so they brush everything with oil and excessive salt

of course i do, why would i give up stuff i enjoy to achieve a goal? thats a shit way to live a meaningless life and then die and end up in a coffin anyway. i dont eat it all the time and 75% of my diet consists of whole healthy foods, but then again my diet was like that before i started getting involved in fitness.

anyone who thinks "bad food" is the boogeyman and is the reason for you not achieving your fitness goals needs to stop and re-evaluate WHY that "bad food" is preventing that to begin with. usually either training is shit, you eat too much period(yes you can get fat eating brown rice chicken and broccoli, surprising i know) or you dont eat enough period. or you have a health condition and at that point you will need medical intervention despite what you may want to think.

When I bulk I eat a lot of burgers. No bun, toppings or condiments, just some salt and pepper.

I'll eat pizza and fries on occasion, if I'm out with people and the food sounds/looks appetizing. I usually don't eat much of it because too much fried food makes me physically feel like shit.

I have a hard no go on fast food though. McDonald's and Burger King is not special. You can get it anywhere at any time, there is no reason to ever eat it. Make junk food special. Like a nice local pizzeria or a burger at a really nice restaurant. Those are my mental gymnastics that separates goyslop from regular food.

I've got about 25 lbs. to shake off to get back to visible abs again, but when I WAS looking pretty fucking good, I still ate shit food on occasion. ON OCCASION is the key term here, and also IN MODERATION.
Sure, every few months I'd get a few too many drinks in me and find myself with an empty box next to me that used to hold 6 donuts, but I tried to keep that shit to the minimum since I didn't want to stop being lean.
But, I still had a rule that as long as I was solid all week long, Friday was for fun, so drinks and whatever dinner sounded good was on the menu.
But, the most important thing to remember is that I didn't fuck around UNTIL I was lean enough to be satisfied. If you keep implementing cheat days and shit on your journey to fat loss, you're never gonna make it. Be strict for months on end, loosen up for a few weeks, be strict again, but don't let weekly fuck-ups ruin your progress.

    >burgers
    I'm cooking some right now.

    >fries
Not so much. Sometimes I cut up potatoes and make baked fries.

Mostly I just cut out fast food and shit like processed snacks. Now instead of something like crackers or chips with my lunch, I'll have fresh veggies instead.

Honestly it's not that hard if you just take it slowly and make small, incremental changes. It's shit like
