    i don't really like facepulls, honestly. they're worse than rows and reverse flies for the rear delt, rhomboids and mid/low traps, and they don't train external rotation as well as a simple physio band could. just don't really see the point in doing them.

    I fw facepulls at times. Theyre good if youre not a nerd that goes "welp thats my 2x12" upper back/delts can take an enormous amount of volume. Do a grinder set of 30. Rest 2 minutes and do it again rest paused. Do that again.

    I'm too strong at face pulls to do them standing. Even with good friction I am starting to surpass the weight I can use for sets of 12-15 with good form due to physics.
    I didn't do face pulls to get strong at face pulls, I spammed different rows + vertical pulls. Never bothered to do any rear delt isolation, I can probably count the amount of sets of rear flies I have done in my entire life with my fingers. They aren't underdeveloped or weak, if anything they're proportionally stronger than my medial and front delts.
