You're right about the jazz shit but not the classical.
You can't pick and choose, you either accept the study as a whole or you don't you fricking c**t. kys.
You can though.
what study?
you study stud D's probably
Oh no what are ds?!
A lot of metal heads are into classical, or at least baroque, you plug Vivaldi into an amp and you literally have metal music. It's mostly the musicians themselves though, metal fans probably are unaware but most of the guitarists are classically trained.
>metal fans probably are unaware but most of the guitarists are classically trained.
i knew this but i also had a pretty based german techer in hs who showed us all the german composers
old people listen to classical and old people have low testosterone
I listen to classical music and Im in the bloom of my youth
and you have low testosterone.
Prove it
You listen to classical music
That doesn't prove anything
Arguing with science?
If you dont listen to classical at least sometimes you may not be white
You're hardly a man considering your testosterone levels
So you are stuck listening to one music type? Sometimes I listen to classical, sometimes metal, sometimes pic, its whatever. I just don't listen to pop or Black person shit.
I listen to the music of your squirming in this thread as you completely miss that I'm fricking with you.

- relaxes anger
- boosts sexual attraction
- motivates activity
- affects your hormones
>Decreases anger
>Affects your hormones
So it's literally audio estrogen, thanks
>he still thinks that testosterone is anger
>Still thinks it isnt
No, it is intensity. Anger is a physiological reaction to another emotion/feeling, usually stress, sadness or fear
it is
it also affects your emotions. listening to music opens you up to emotional manipulation. I'm with
jazzbros is it over? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Pq36hQyDMs
When stressed, men recieve higher levels of testosterone. Punk or metal induces a form of stress (though an enjoyable one that excites you) that allows one to lift more. Metal and punk are more popular with those who come from troubled households
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5128352/
Listening to punk or metal is similar to roidtrooning. Have fun dying at 30, ill just lift serenely enjoying the calm that jazz gives me.
Lub me some jazz fusion. Especially jazz pianists
Fricking based, I can already tell I'd love ya king
I'm on the Coltrane to Gainz homie.

ok post metal
Cryptopsy is tech death not post-metal you silly boy haha 🙂
fine
I listen to everything because I musicmaxxed to get girls, started with guitar then drums then piano and now I'm at 12 instruments.
I have noticed that during high test periods I enjoy metal more while lower test periods(during high stress, after prolonged sleep deprival when not training as well) I gravitate more towards jazz.
Though it could be other factors, I find it a lot easier to lift to Pantera than to Brubeck and perhaps listening to one thing inclines me to listen to more alike things.
My mom caught me listening to Slipknot and she thinks it's Satanic music and that I'm possessed.
She's praying for me now.

Sorry man, not really my type
I really like some of these, WoY is great, Alestorm is...interesting
I really like the fist two, the last one not so much
Now that I think about it, I think what turns me off so many of these are vocals. I think the bands that I listed, as well as some of your recommendations that appealed to me all have pretty crisp vocals while the others are kinda... the opposite, I don't know what to call it
Rivers of Nihil, Allegaeon, Children of Bodom, Woods of Ypres (lightning and snow is a banger), All That Remains (This Darkened Heart or Fall of Ideals preferably, nothing past 2012)
Mastodon, Alestorm, Winds of Plague, Lamb of God, Jinjer

Liszt was undoubtedly more gigachad than Chopin but is still the inferior composer imo.
No way on earth that's true, you know how many beta egdy neckbeards love metal. Real chads listen to EDM, Dubstep and Riddim. Shit's fun

Not only that, but he was an incel. Fur Elise was a piece he wrote for a turbo that student and was originally a much easier piece. He wanted something pretty that was easy enough for her to play. >Men with high testosterone levels prefer metal and rock music, while those with low testosterone prefer jazz and classical music.
Funny. You're onto something here. I listen to Velvet Revolver, Guns and Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Janes Addiction when lifting/sprinting. Jazz when chilling. That being said, Coltane/Monk is has to be the highlights on American civilization.
I listen mainly to metal and classical. Little to do with testosterone; mostly IQ. Can see listening to metal increasing T transiently though.
I only listen to bladee and sematary
Men with no test and high est listen to christian rock
The only "metal" band I like is Avenged Sevenfold.
The rest is EDM, Boogie (yes that's a genre), or Acid jazz.
can't listen to those guys since all of them look like fricking freaks except 'syn'
fricking awful band
This is my first time seeing them IRL.
I don't care if they look like goblins, the music is still good to me.
People who listen to metal and rock usually have higher test because
1. They are younger on average than jazz and classical listeners.
2. Most people who report listening to a certain style of music either primarily listen to that style and don't branch out often. People who will be naturally attracted more to metal and rock will prefer the perceived aggression and higher BPM because its better associated with high test activities and social outings.
So no correlation does not mean causation. Thread is over
how many times are you gonna say this shit
it's not true, and you are low t trying to cope your shitty musical taste
stfu and get out of my thread
Throughout my entire life my go to tracks that I play on repeat are high bpm rock tracks in the general stylistic grouping of punk, emo, and or metal. That being said some stupid observational study on testosterone perceived in music listeners is not even going to be representative of the different spheres of listeners in said genre. Compare bog standard shit popular rock or metal to any free jazz or modernist classical. What do you think will sound more high test?

>fragile masculinity: the thread
Frick you and your citation, classical kicks ass. Jazz is betatastic though.
Jazz is basically the place musicians go if they want to be really good at their craft, but they play the genre that non-musicians can't even comprehend and appreciate. Literally only impressive to musicians, like an elitist taste for them.
The top jazz guys were really moody and beta, too. Definitely a more feminine style of music. There's not much leadership to it - every musician is kind of soloing and showing off, but they're doing it as a group - it's chaotic at best.
I enjoy rock, metal, and classical, resulting in a thorough enjoyment of neoclassical acoustic and electric guitar progressions - very kino.
Am I high test?
Do you like pic
Quite jazzy. The rock/classical fusion makes it have elements I like, but the jazz element makes sure it's all over the place. All of the players are doing amazing shit. Definitely a music snob's kind of album. Not bad.
I was thinking scandinavian metal that is heavily inspired by classical music. They get these childhood classical guitar prodigies that transition to playing in a metal band, and I just find it's a tight sound with a good keys player.
A band like Ghost fits the bill these days, and a band like Children of Bodom back in the day.
>resulting in a thorough enjoyment of neoclassical acoustic and electric guitar progressions
>and also shitting on jazz
What a fricking pleb, absolutely moronic take.

Relaxing music hypes me up. If it's some happy chill out we're on the beach shit, it doesn't make me want to relax and soak up the sun, it makes me want to dive in and do some navy seal shit.
On the other hand heavy metal or aggressive rap that makes people get energetic and dance and stuff just makes me chill.

>most of it isn't even classical
You wot m8? Debussy, Mozart, Bach, Chopin...look again or get some glasses.
>DeBussy, Chopin, Grieg
Most of it is romantic, not classical
Where's the difference?
Classical is focused on balance and order, whereas romantic is more about strong emotions and beauty. Classical was more complex due to this,, but romantic was more dramatic. That's why for romantic pieces you get a lot of really soft parts then it gets suddenly loud af. pp to ff in between notes was very very common in romantic because it had the dramatic feel to it. Gets meme about a lot, but it worked.. The classical period was from about 1750-1820 and the romantic period was the rest of the 19th century.
Thanks fren. I learned something new today.
Yeah, m8. Other than my ego posting, it was an aight playlist. Romantic piano pieces are most of my faves
t. pianist
Do you have examples of classical piano? Interested in the audible difference.
A good comparison would probably be Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and Chopin's Nocturnes for purely piano pieces. Beethoven's Kreutzer(violin sonata no. 9, op. 47) and Fritz Kreisler's Alt-Wiener Tanzweisen would be good if you also like a lil bit o' violin.
Honestly, i don't hear much of a difference except that Beethoven sounds more rigid (but could also be the pianist interpreting it this way). Both pieces sound melancholic and are equally beautiful to me.
This is just you being a semantic butthole anon. “Classical” refers to both the genre and the period of music. All western art music is colloquially referred to as classical music. Both Schoenberg and Haydn’s music is referred to as classical music despite only one actually being a classical era composer. Talk to any musician or music professor and they wont bat an eye if you call Tchaikovsky classical music instead of romantic music.
>shitposting
>on IST
Oh, no! How could he?
You should get used to silence more.
Tell me a good reason why and i might consider it.
There's three reasons that I would say, though I can't say they are universal:
Personally I find meditation to be an entirely different experience without music. More challenging, but also more rewarding.
The sounds of nature and your actions are actually quite beautiful. For example when cooking, the sound your knife makes as it cuts through ingredients and the edge hits the board, the sizzling of ingredients in the pan, all that is droned out with music. I love music for cleaning, but not for the cooking process myself.
Spiritually I think that we ought to be able to deal with outselves without as many distractions and music is just that. You don't need to live a life devoid of any pleasure, but constant distraction may not be good either.
Just think about if any of those resonate with you, and if not, disregard my post and keep doing what you are doing.
I see your point but it's not like i am blasting so loud that i don't hear natural ambient noises anymore. For me personally, certain music enhances my experiences. During meditation it puts me into trancelike state and i can focus on my toughts and breath, and sometimes i put on nature ambient sounds which is just as amazing for meditation. When i am working out, aggressive music can give me the final push i need. Music isn't just background noise for me, it's mean a lot (i am also a hobby musician...so...). But if you talk about people who blast popular music all day, like really bad top 40 crap, yeah...not my thing either. These people have no taste, and are essentially plebs. But not everyone is musically gifted or able to appreciate fine art when they see or hear it. Sounds pretentious but it is what it is.
The only high test music is old school colombian Cumbia. That accordeon is bussin fr fr no cap
Nah, the real patrician choice is Argentinian cumbia. More energetic, better for lifting.
I lift to the Kingdom of Heaven soundtrack
>mfw enjoyed metal since I was a kid, still do
>be a dyel basedboi low test cuck
Well there goes that theory.
What genre?
The stuff I listened to when I was younger was stuff like Blue Stahli, Papa Roach, Slipknot, System of a down, Linking Park (hybrid theory and Meteora mostly), Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, Death Stars, Breaking Benjamin, Avenged Sevenfold, Amon Amarth, whatever a angsty teenager needs as an outlet for his edgy phase, kek.
Oof, pls don't remind me. Those were cringe times
Thankfully I just shared my passion for the songs with a few other friends and never wore metal clothes or forced it on others, so it didn't bomb my social life, but I did walk around with friends with papa roach loud on my phone through town a few times, kek. Good times, but glad I moved on.
Now I'm not sure how much of me still listening to some of those songs is nostalgia and how much is genuine appreciation for the songs.
my playlist now homie
Enjoy anon, kek. Just don't make it your personality and you'll be fine.
I only listen to it in the gym for gains.
I really dislike jazz. It feels like it never arrives at "the point" of the song. It's like the entire genre was made to be played in an elevator.
Jazz is worshipped by effete low T liberals who are insecure of their feminity and think they can ameliorate this by adopting the crude jungle rhythms of the barely-sentient Black race. It didn't occur to them that the only redeeming quality of Black music was lost when they ceased to sing it in the plantation fields. As a genre held up against others, it has no redeeming qualities. It's classical for people with low IQs and no talent.
>most complex chords and scales are found in Jazz
>but it's low IQ
You will never understand Jazz with your limited IQ.
Playing a whole bunch of wrong notes doesn't mean the scales or chords are complex.
There's a metal group called Spiral Architecture whose songs have up to 25 beats in a bar. They must be geniuses according to your thinking.
It's not about how much beats you put in a bar, it's about how complex your progression and freeform improv is.
>freeform improv
This is the ultimate pseud trap. Has never sounded good, never will. It's slam poetry but for music.
You are a musical pleb and your pleb taste in art disgusts me. Everyone can play music by sheet with enough training. But improvised music, without direction, sheets and purely based on feel is the masterclass of music, especially if it's in complex and unusual scales found in Jazz.
>some guy riffing random notes is better than prepared music because... because it's based on feels okay?
are you a woman by chance?
The prepared music is based on feels too, moron. What are you even arguing here? Stop trolling me ffs...
Real music has a syntax like grammar. Just spitting out notes, or words, produces the same exact thing: garbage. Or perhaps you think rap battles and slam poetry sessions are interesting. Hell, look who I'm arguing with, you probably do.
>Real music has a syntax like grammar.
So does improv you moron. It's just a language that you fail to understand.
>y-you're too stupid to appreciate my incredibly complex riffing!!
lmao
Oh, and it's not random. You truly have no idea what improv actually means...no wonder you ignorant homosexual trashtalk it...because you don't get it.
I listen to SXM 2000's rock to hit PR's!
I listen to all those genres (professional musician) and have quite high T (balding, bodyhair everywhere, muscular, high sex drive).
I think you have to be a lot more specific within genres because modern metal music is extremely emasculated, the production is very similar to pop music just with distorted guitars. Similarly a lot of modern jazz is elevator music, completely uninspired and risk averse. Compare modern jazz to the drug-fuelled masculine chaos of 60s Coltrane...
In the classical world a lot of people consider modern soundtracks to be within the realm of classical music, when I would consider them similarly emasculated and sterile forms of music compared to the high testosterone works of Wagner or Rachmaninov.
What if you love all these musical styles
My gym playlist is a weird mixture of shit. WHo knows maybe some of you find some shit you like, kek.
I listen to hyperpop, metal, nationalistic rap in languages I do not speak, electronic, arabic nasheeds, and other experimental shit
Almost got my ass beat once because I listened to some serbian nationalist rap and some dude heard the lyrics. I listen to entirely different stuff when not in the gym. Some stuff from that list:
>Mick Gordon (Doom, Doom Eternal soundtracks)
>SOPHIE (Ponyboy and Faceshopping)
>1 800 Pain (Hurt, Outside, BNE)
>The soundtrack to hotline miami (1&2)
>Death grips
>Movie soundtracks (A Serbian Film, John Wick - Le castle vania)
>various nasheeds (Mahum Bi Ummati Ahmadin, Ummati Qad Laha Fajrun, Liyakun Yawmuka (trap remix), Abu Ali - Savarim (trap remix))
>Generic metal bands
>Pop shit (Heads will roll)
>Various phonk titles
>Dubstep (knifeparty etc.)
>meme shit (multi track listening, the sigma male grindset meme song, U got that (the ricardo meme song))
Not gonna list all the other shit in languages I don't understand, a lot of it is in cyrillic or arabic neither of which I can read and I am too lazy to copy paste, but it's shit like "Gazirovka - Black", Гpибы - Taeт лeд, as I said, not going to copy all the shit in languages I can't even read.
For warmup I like electro swing, electro funk, shit like that.
>Destination Calabria
>caravan palace
>cut capers
>electric swing circus
>F-777
>Jamie Berry
>Peggy Suave
>Electronic Perséphone
For cooldown I like folk music, and just slower songs in general. Also blues, jazz and stuff.
>Kaval sviri
>Die Grenzwacht hielt im Osten
>"The real fold blues"
>"boa - duvet"
>"Flyday Chinatown"
>macross 82-99 fun tonight

Despite large amounts of trannies pinning estrogen listening to bladee, I’d say his music is the highest test music ever made, unironically.
>test tards putting the cart before the horse as usual
Must be a day ending with the letter y.
Due to this thread i decided to listen some 6ix9ine bangers and iam now so fricking pumped
Kooda, billy, kika are great if you want get out of your coach
I listen to Pachelbels Canon in D for that test boost in the mornings. I recommend trying it.

Masterrace reporting in
Bullshit, I listen to metal but every metalhead I know is a skinny fat low test gay, just go at a concert and watch
Is symphonic metal high test or low test then
Men with highest test listen to anime music
Real men listen to whatever the frick they want.
I only listen to Christian metal AMA
Does Plumb count? Does switchfoot still make music? Does Brian Welch’s band count?
I remember reading this study. If I remember correct, it also looked at a few specific artists/bands, and concluded that Coldplay is being appreciated almost entirely by low test men. I found this be to very interesting. Does anyone have a link to this study?
For me it's
1. Electronic
2. Rock/metal
3. Pop
I listen to Metal and Classical. Checkmate, Atheist.
What a stupid frickin moronic thread,i listen to clasiccal music(even when working out) and i am pissed off all the time,i have morning eretions every day,i want to frick your mothers and wives with my 7,3 inch legnth 5.9 inch fat wiener all the time.
Metal and rock mostly sucks 🙂
I don't prefer any music. Each sort plays when it should.
Ex metal head here (used to be a drummer in several bands). The hilarious thing about metal heads is, despite all the aggression in their music of choice, the tattoos, the screaming, the beards etc - metal heads are generally the most friendly, laid back and pleasant people in the world. The complete opposite of testosterone fueled men.
Except "industrial metal" fans, they seem to be really uptight and overcompensating with the faux-manliness. Just what ive noticed.
All the death/prog heads are chill as frick and comfortable with being nice people.
Industrial metal is nothing but a bunch of diaper gays and perverts
Metal is for angsty teens. Its listeners probably are higher t.
I don’t listen to music at all, what does that say about me?
>WHOOOAAA
>I never meant to brag
>But I got him where I want him now
>WHOOOAAA
>it was never my intention to brag
>To steal it all away from you now
>But God, does it feel so good
>'Cause I got him where I want him now
>And if you could, then you know you would
>'Cause God it just feels so
>It just feels so good
I listen to metal and classical. Low test ia indie pop. Even polka is far higher octane than indie pop
Tchaikovsky was based as shit and definitely fricked. imagine thinking this is low test.
>ngmi ever
He was gay as shit.
his test was so high he took another man's ass.
So is Rob Halford, but Judas Priest has made some pretty decent high T metal riffs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM__lPTWThU
I had hypothyroidism and barely functional balls and I was still enjoying death metal. I doubt that's how it works
I like all of those
I listen to pretty much only metal but I play a few instruments and get called to fill in at a variety of gigs. If you're a musician looking into gains for your chops and solos, take a few beginner to intermediate jazz courses for what it teaches peripherally.
Metal guitar is jazz with distortion/fuzz and more emphasis on staying on beat. Jazz will teach how to noodle around within a chord progression and this skill applies to every style of music from drop tuned distorted chorused/phased sludge to bright and twangy homosexual country-pop.
Jazz bass similarly teaches all the different notes that can be played within a chord, great for "slash chords" (usually inversions like C/E where the band plays a C chord but bass and piano's left hand play the third which is E) or other tension-building progressions and making notable bass lines, as well as how to listen to what everyone else is doing and play in a manner that supports the song itself. It'll also drill in the importance of dynamics and tone control for certain sounds that you can apply anywhere.
Jazz drums teach timing despite the swing feel, the absolute importance of dynamics, and listening to apply syncopation with the other instruments. Kick and snare pair with bass, cymbal work with guitars, toms and snare can play well with horns and throw some cymbal work in too for piano, etc. Dynamics are a huge part as well- even in most genres of metal drumming isn't just wildly beating the shit out of everything.
Jazz piano teaches how to both take the lead and play supportive beyond basic chords. It really sharpens the ear to follow along with what the bass or guitar is doing and to stay out of their way, or to play along in a syncopated lick an octave or so off. It'll stretch you with timing and dynamics as well.
Horns and woodwind instruments I don't know much about but the music theory for soloing and attention to detail for syncopation/band support should be helpful
>classical is low T
>oh hey but just ignore this 4 minute metal guitar solo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZjdAWgjLx8
>hey forget about this song that could convert to metal riffs and blend in with everything else that's about fate knocking at your door https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOk8Tm815lE&t=473s
>we're just not going to count this literal metal song from the four seasons which is really about the stages of life, with this one being decay and death that we all must face: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZCfydWF48c
>don't listen to the first 4 minutes of this orchestral piece that's heavier than anything you'll find from a metal band today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb2h24lTqho
Frick off.
Jazz is dissonant israeli noise however and should be thrown into the trash along with all the pseudo-intellectuals who think it's brilliant.
>Jazz is dissonant israeli noise
Metal often is much more dissonant, you clearly knows nothing about music
Imagine not listening to The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady by Charles Mingus while lifting.<uckin plebs
It's always the scrawny/skinnyfat femcels and tryhard dyels listening to rock in public
