    Some of it will be patterns that you need to recognize and then break

    For me, I've been incredibly sick this year with severe nausea. For reasons I don't understand, porn helps this. But it means that I've spent three days recovering while jerking off to porn, and so now the rest of the week that tendency is there.

    So first off there will be the association with jerking off itself that I need to work through. If I am even remotely in the mood I make sure to go jerk off using my imagination. This prevents the feeling from rising into a sort of hysteria where I'm madly scrambling for porn.

    There are also other things like the need to create a collection. Like I think that last time I was in a pit of despair I really liked this one actress, so I should download some more of her videos just in case it helps next time. Then after selecting a few for download I suddenly feel like I have to finish to the videos. If I don't do that at all then I don't have to fight that temptation.

    But these are just examples and yours will probably be different

      Dopamine activation promotes health and temporarly gets you out of serotonergic nausea and learned helplessness. To get out of that state without porn you have to find something exciting to do and excell at it. Repeated failure in anything one does is the primary thing that gets people into learned helplessness.

      You could try prolactin and serotonin antagonists and dopamine agonists, but simple things like coffee with sugar, exciting music, working on something meaningful can be enough.

        One thing I've found interesting: it seems to happen after I go into the office.

        My work is very distributed: my team is located in different cities and everything is virtual. Due to people leaving, I ended up in a city by myself. But we're still obligated to use the office. So I have to go into an office and sit by myself and have virtual meetings every week or two. It is made more weird by being within earshot of people that do work together. It's really alienating.

      The key to handling your porn addiction is to do something else with your life. That's it. Your brain picking the most convenient thing to do instead of the most productive and beneficial in the long run says a lot about you. First and foremost, that you're bored with your life and you don't have any real goals and dreams. So, address that.
      Just fricking do something.
      As with most things, there's another way, which is to prevent the urges from happening (note that I said to prevent, not to combat, which is close to impossible), but when you force yourself into not doing something after doing that thing for decades, it's not a good time and you WILL relapse after a certain amount of time.
      A smarter way to go about that would be to substitute that thing you do with another thing which will keep you busy. Pick a math field, learn the history of medieval Serbia, play the piano, whatever. You're a NEET and you have plenty of time to do all of those things combined, don't fricking lie to me. This will help you make the most out of your brain.
      Or you could treat the symptoms instead of the root problem and relapse in 5 days. Your choice.

        I don't think a testosterone boost is a guaranteed thing. Generally it's been shown that sexual stimuli increases testosterone. Which makes sense as your body will increase testosterone if you are needing to have sex.
        And vice versa if you don't have any sexual activity for a long period of time, your body will think you don't need testosterone because you are a loser or sick or something, and having high testosterone is a waste of body resources.

    Buddhist meditation is a good example to illustrate this. Fundamentally, the initial stages of meditation are using your will to connect to and stay with a perceptual quality. But you do a whole heap of other stuff to help this take place. Like for example you don't have a huge meal right before you meditate because that will make you sluggish and unable to concentrate. So you're creating conditions in which will power can operate effectively.
