That's normal when you transition into the keto state. The first several days the body doesn't function optimally. It doesn't know how to efficiently use ketones so it turns to muscle to get glucose. The study states that after 11 days of ketosis, muscle loss went back to a normal rate you would expect on a calorie deficit, and the same with fat loss.
That's why keto advocates say you need to get fat adapted.
