How do I get better at this, realistically? I am doing a 5x5 and consistently make progress on squats, deadlift, barbell row and bench but I cannot for the life of me keep up the same peace with OHP, my form falls apart and I have to cuck out before I frick my back up
i plateued my bench at 215 and ohp at 135x2 in around 4 1/2 months
the change in rate of progress as a novice compared to intermediate is kind of depressing
do the mobility work required to do the press from rack position, its pretty much a different exercise compared to the ohp where you hold it slightly below your chin, start with the bar and imagine its a completely different exercise
My OHP plateaued after growing tremendously for about a year. I went from 65 to 175 in about 12 months. I got stuck at 175 for 6 months and the only thing that got me to grow was discipline. I had to tighten some things up in my lifting and lifestyle. Aka actually eating the 200g of protein per day, taking creatine (maybe this helped, I was only on it for a week when I hit 185) and lifting heavy with OHP (lots of reps at 75-85 % of my 1 rep max) I also do a ton of accessories like lat raises, dips, and klokov presses. I have a whole day dedicated to just shoulders if you couldn't tell. The bottom line is that you will plateau but a routine can always be tightened up a bit. You just have to keep going and believe in yourself. Don't get discouraged. There are things happening underneath the skin that take time.
if you have to work your front delts you're a DYEL. everyone at the gym has front delts from trying to learn how to bench and getting wienery with ego lifts with their bad form. bad bait 0/10
>get to a steady 5x5 80kg OHP, still making progress >tear my shoulder (unrelated to the gym) >now I can't OHP or bench at all anymore
bros... the only lift I was good at...
cool thread, homie.
I agree, but not worth a thread.
Either way, you should do them both.
cool reply, homie.
I agree, but not worth a reply.
Either way, that pic is pretty gay.
Weighted dips >
Yeah but with dumbbells
>shoulder exercise > chest exercise
fricking moronic Black person
overdeveloped pecs attracts queers
I like touching my chest sometimes. Not nipples mind you and not sexually.
you'll never have overdeveloped anything as a natty
OHP doesn't work out your pecs you dumb moron. Apples and Oranges.
It does work your upper pecs thougheverbeit
It's my favorite lift but no it's not
#1
It's fun and looks impressive when you're able to lift 1pl8+ overhead but seated variations and even machines are better for shoulder development imo
Me > You
>both destroy my shoulders
for me its dumbells

>this lift that doesn't work your chest is superior to that lift that works the chest
Yawn, another DYEL b8 thread.
