Maximising biological energy (metabolism) is, by definition good for you, as you are literally more alive.
Peat thusly recommends foods which increase metabolism, such as fructose sugars (fruits), fish, egg yolks, butter, and stuff like progesterone, pregnenolone, DHEA, thyroid

Polyunsaturated fatty acids are promoted as "heart healthy" by the american heart association and Harvard. The AHA were able to promote this message after a grant from P&G, who were beginning to make crisco from the refuse of cotton production. The marketing in combination with this research led to PUFA replacing saturated fats in the western diet, the timing of which is correlated with both the rise in obesity and the rise in heart attacks.
Polyunsaturated fatty acids are unstable, meaning they oxidize easily compared to saturated fats. This oxidization produces toxic compounds, and PUFA stored in the body as linoleic acid also oxidizes easily.
When this was all kicking off, the AHA used mental institutions to conduct a massive RCT about saturated vs unsaturated fat in diets. When they found that unsaturated fats actually increased mortality they just refused to publish the data and it was only discovered decades later
Peat says a bunch of other stuff but that's the gist of all the seed oil stuff, which is really the most important topic
thank you. sounds interesting and something one should look into
Can someone tell why fish oil bad? AFIK common people have very unbalanced omega 3:6 ratio, because of sneed oils, and omega 3 fish oils will balance it out. Yes?

Can someone tell why fish oil bad? AFIK common people have very unbalanced omega 3:6 ratio, because of sneed oils, and omega 3 fish oils will balance it out. Yes?
a balanced omega 3:6 ratio is important, but you want to achieve it by keeping both low. not by taking in a lot of omega 3 to compensate the immense amount of omega 6 in modern food. graph in image attached shows that low (but non-zero) amounts of omega 3 and 6 give the best result.

I love the taste and getting rid of seed oils and other garbage probably already gets you at least 90% of the way, I'm not a biohacker sacrificing everything to get to 100%.
I think his seafood writing is some of his weakest. Sometimes he'll drift into anecdotes, and one of his is that he met some guy who was moronic (or whatever it was) because he lived exclusively off seafood. It's not the most convincing argument.
Some of this is off I think. He wouldn't recommend most of the above ground vegetables. Spinach would be out entirely because he suggests only eating above ground vegetables that can be cooked. Ray peat is one of the most straight up moronic mother frickers that exist. The only thing he is remotely right on is seed oils / PUFA ( which he isn't even fully right on ) and he uses that to justify all the other stupid shit he says.
He doesn't believe in glycation or any other form of aging and believes aging is caused purely by pufa. To this end he believes you should minimize consumption of all fat. He doesn't believe omega 3 or omega 6 fatty acids are essential for humans and that you should intentionally deprive yourself of them.
Have you seen him actually speak? He is a stuttering moron. I wanted to learn why he decided humans are best adapted to eating sugar from domesticated plants and why the frick he drinks skim milk, so I looked up a few of his Q&A's. The dude can barely put out a sentence a minute and he stutters on EVERY SINGLE WORD.
Oh yeah and his reasoning for humans being more adapted to eating sugar instead of fat like paleolithic man is because one tiny moronic squirrel species has a large brain for it's body size and it eats lots of sugar, so supposedly sugar = big brain or something. He's just completely moronic, but you can't expect much when he gets all his calories from orange juice, the most glyphosate ridden food there is, and FRICKING SKIM MILK LMAO.

Humans were made to derive our energy from saturated fat, not sugar, that is an undeniable fact.
Glycation exists and is the main method of aging, ray peat pretends it does not exist because it goes directly against his moronic diet theories.
This is your last chance to not look like a complete shill by the way, so you should try and put a bit of effort into this last reply.

this is one of the things he said that i still don't buy. Sure excess cardio is bad seeing how cyclists, soccer players, and marathon runners got the occasional heart attacks (the PEDs and vaccines probably made it worse). But people who never do any cardio like most powershitters are also at risk of getting heart attacks

At lot of people are at risk of heart attacks now, because they consume sneed oils and pufas. You can just walk a lot anyway.

dont forget that its a high thyroid diet, not a recovery diet. if you take a hypothyroid person with issues digesting dairy and get the to pound lots of milk they wont magically get better.

I've never replied to any other ray peat thread. The fact that you get the same criticizes is likely because there are clear holes in ray peats views on health.
>The fact that you get the same criticizes is likely because there are clear holes in ray peats views on health.
Lazy, adhom arguments pulled out the ass of every passing by ketocultist and whatever other moron diet doesn't mean the flaw lies with Peat.
>Humans were made to derive our energy from saturated fat, not sugar, that is an undeniable fact.
Sugar is energy. Even the most basic organisms use it for fuel, that's its literal purpose.
>Glycation exists and is the main method of aging,
No, stress is. Pull your head out of your ass ketomonkey

Lifting weights and doing cardio is stress. we should stop doing that to extend lifespan and heath.
Oh, by the way, glycation is stress at the cellular level.
>Lifting weights and doing cardio is stress.
Concentric exercise is restorative. Cardio is estrogenic and catabolic.
Have you considered maybe reading the content you're engaging with, before you argue against it?
>Oh, by the way, glycation is stress at the cellular level.
Are you conflating proper glucose metabolism with glycation?
Do you know why cortisol is referred to as a glucocorticoid?
>Cardio is estrogenic and catabolic
this is one of the things he said that i still don't buy.
You can just walk a lot anyway.
what should i avoid when i'm buying orange juices?
peats diet is probably not manageable for most people
dont forget that its a high thyroid diet, not a recovery diet. if you take a hypothyroid person with issues digesting dairy and get the to pound lots of milk they wont magically get better.
holy frick I started drinking raw milk recently and all my digestive problems are just gone, how come nobody told me that pasteurized milk is basically g$$$yslob?
anyone else in here taken the rawmilk pill?
Are oats peat approved?
