I don't know if either is better than the other. I just eat either/or in order to vary my diet a bit. Also depends on the rice, brown rice is like all fibre whereas white rice is more of a starchy carb.
Idk just don't over think it, eat your protein target and whatever gets you to your calorie target.
>rice
Shit grain. Basically devoid of nutrients. Only upside is that it's easy to digest. >potatoes
Best vegetable. So nutrient dense you can nearly live on it. Also easy to digest so it negates rice.
That's Midwestern cuisine in the US. Terrible shit. Once had a midwestern gf that made "dinner" composing of potatoes, rice, and pasta. She finished off the combo with some jalapeno juice in the pot which created a noxious gas and forced everyone to evacuate the building. To this day, it was the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth (including ants).
My grandmother is Peruvian so the rice and potatoes were tasty. No fried/baked potatoes, only boiled. Always accompanied by chicken or beef.
Also wtf, your ex must've been from Ohio or Minnesota. My gf is from Michigan and the only weird food her family has made was a burger with cheese inside of it.
>made "dinner" composing of potatoes, rice, and pasta
this is so idiodic it can only be the product of an american woman. i am unironically sorry for you anon
Russia will not nuke anyone unless Xi gives them permission. And he won't, because Westerners are much more valuable to China than a bunch of poor subhuman Ryssiäns.
if you are from a potato eating country you will eat potatoes and bread because you like them more, if you are from a rice eating country you will eat rice because you like it more
Rice + beans, peas or lentils for free real estate brotein. It's the perfect match because they complement each other's missing aminoacids giving you high quality protein and low glycemic index carbs.
It depends what you want from it. Potato is better in terms of nutrients and keeps you satiated longer if that is your goal but if you want easy to eat calories that are also easily digestible then rice is the better choice.
Potatos for me
When I eat white or brown rice now I feel my blood sugar levels rise and then crash afterwards making me sleepy depending on the situation regardless of foods consumed with it. Potato’s despite having a higher gi index doesn’t do that to me. I wonder if my body is unhealthy and I have bad insulin sensitivity
potatoes if I'm making soup or something and it's easy enough to just throw in 200-400 g of some yellow potatoes. Rice if I'm not in the mood for wet food.
Rice for convenience
simple as
>arsenic
No thanks
>he doesnt care where his rice is from
>he doesnt even wash his rice
>5 min in microwave for a medium potato
how less fucking convenient is that ?
I eat like 500g or more as a side per meal, how big are your potatoes?
skin potato, dice potato, boil it water for 10mins, drain, add butter, mash.
idk anon that seems pretty easy to do
to answer op, I like both

Probably potatoes but only if you eat the skin. But is right, it doesn't matter, eat both
>rice: boil for 15mins
>potatoes: boil for 25 mins
Hardly that big a deal
: boil for 25 mins
You forgot peeling
>he peels
scrubbing the dirt then
>he doesn't wash his rice
>he uses instant rice
Potato by far
ITT fat fucks.
>t. doesn't lift
I do lift, and look better than you.
>hurr durr post body
You first, fatty.
Post wrist.
Do one (1) pullup.
I can do 10, now post your wrist/hand
French fry with vinegar. I want that.
Rice is pellet-food for subhumans and non-humans. Potatoes are at least nutritious.
Oats
>rice
Shit grain. Basically devoid of nutrients. Only upside is that it's easy to digest.
>potatoes
Best vegetable. So nutrient dense you can nearly live on it. Also easy to digest so it negates rice.
Taters vs oats?
Basically equal in terms of quality and nutrition
Potatoes.
>But-
They taste better. Me like yummy potato.
Potatoes are full of potassium
Rice is tastier in some cases but in general its tatties for this boy.
Growing up my grandmother would cook food from the old country and it would be both.
I used to mash the potato with a fork and mix it with the rice.

Americans are truly sub human. I hope Russia nukes them into orbit
Russia will not nuke anyone unless Xi gives them permission. And he won't, because Westerners are much more valuable to China than a bunch of poor subhuman Ryssiäns.
both. why? because thewy go tastier together that's why
Potatoes are far more nutritious.
what's wrong with whole grain pasta? should i be eating potatoes instead?
Whole grain has anti nutrients and tastes bad.
yams because yams
Don't know, don't care. Personally potatoes taste better, but I'll eat whichever one goes better with the meal. They're both good carbs, simple as.
if you are from a potato eating country you will eat potatoes and bread because you like them more, if you are from a rice eating country you will eat rice because you like it more
I tried to nutrient maxx and just eat potatoes, but it gets boring. I have to have both.
sweet potato I think has more than potato
pasta of course
I rarely eat carbs. But when I do it's mashed potatoes.
Potatoes are objectively superior because they have micronutrients and rice does not.

Shut up paco I can afford beef and potatoes
It depends what you want from it. Potato is better in terms of nutrients and keeps you satiated longer if that is your goal but if you want easy to eat calories that are also easily digestible then rice is the better choice.
Rice for asians, potatoes for scandinavians due to genetics and adaptation to these foods.
We had rice in Europe way before potatoes were introduced
We ate turnips and wheat gruel not rice though.
Whether it was a staple or not, we had 400 years of eating potatoes and 2000 years of eating rice every now and then
Rice was literally a luxury food until like 200 years ago

Potatoes but I am growing tired of them. They're nice for bbq season when I can bake them with most of my meals but it's a chore during the winter.

I love potatoes in stews or when I can make them in bulk but for every normal meal I prefer rice.
Potatoes are better but rice 8s probably best grain
