>rice is a staple in bodybuilding nutrition
>remember how some people say rice is good for you
>look up the nutrition chart
>it's virtually empty, almost no vitamins or minerals
um… why do we like it so much again? or are you supposed to get wild / brown rice / whatever?

vitamins and minerals are easily enough to get from a multivitamin and you dont need much, what matters is calories and not having too much of any form of bad nutrition

Rice is junkfood. Eat potatos instead, or beans, whatever. Plenty of cheap carbs that MOG rice in every department when it comes to nutrition

I didn't even mention protein in my post. I was talking about nutrients
And who the fuck eats rice for protein? It has no protein

what the fuck did you even say? I'm not even sure. surely there are zero protein foods, so the "the lowest amount" claim is just weird. bean protein isn't perfect, but still better than gluten, and beans have a pretty good amount of protein in them. so… what did you mean, even?

          Anonymous

bean protein is less than 1/4 the usable protein than wheat protein, gluten

first time hearing this. source? i say it's BS, the amino score for beans is better than gluten.

It's true. Its why it's the #1 plant food protein additive for mass produced goyslop.
You're still better off consuming animal sources for better micronutrition and lakx of estrogenic isoflavones though.

there's not a huge difference between white and brown. brown has a little more arsenic i think.

rice is for bulking. that's why bodybuilders use it. it's cheap calories without being as trash for your body as candy or chips.

ok. i just sincerely thought it would be better than pasta. the only thing it has going for it is no gluten and no bloat.

It's shit tier. Bodybuilders only eat it because of

      >potatoes
yes, but they aren't that calorie dense. not easy to meet macros on unless you add oil.
      >beans

i'm not sure if rice is better than pasta but I find it easier to prep with. It's easy to cook extra and either freeze the leftovers or use it in other dishes like fried rice, casseroles, and soups/stews.

They don't know how to bake bread. Rice is easy, just put it in water and microwave it. Bread takes longer than 5 minutes to bake.

Higher glycemic impact than potatoes, isn't enriched with additives or fat like pasta or bread, but bb's will eat all these things. how rice became stereotypical for a bb's diet is a sociological question on the people making the stereotypes, not the bodybuilders themselves.

They're a staple in BODYBUILDING nutrition because (1) those guys need to consume massive amounts of food and (2) rice is cheap as shit and easy to force down your gullet without coming loaded with any weird goyslop poison. It's not that it's "heathy" in the way you're thinking, it's just not UNhealthy and you can eat it all day every day without going broke.

if u have ibs white rice is really good since it's lower in fibre than other carbs are, and it's significantly less involved to cook with than potatoes are
if i've spent 3 hours putting together a meal i'd rather just put some rice on in the device i have specifically made for that purpose than peel, boil, and then mash some potatoes
