Northern Europe and Asia was mostly uninhabitated wilderness back then. Quite literally majority of the people of the world during antiques lived in the Middle East and around the Mediterranean Sea. Other population "hotspots" were China + India and Mesoamerica but those were a bit less significant, and outside of these places was so sparcely populated that it's completely irrelevant.

Didn't say it was easy, but some of the greatest civilizations were built on calories from olive oil.

The much shorter average lifespan was more a function of high infant/childhood mortality than anything else. Once that is accounted for, people still lived shorter lives than now—not surprising, considering near total lack of healthcare, disease, famine, war, etc.—but it was much closer to current life expectancy.

I wonder how much would the avg. lifespan of modern humans drop if we didn't have all these sophisticated medical procedures and antibiotics n shiet. Everyday things like tooth decay would massacre millions yearly. Covid, a mild flu, caused more panic than the Black Plague back in the day.

100g of sunflower seeds (1 large handful) has 51g of fat, 23g of which is unsaturated. That is not an insignificant amount.

Ok now calculate the actual, bioavailable amount of fat that is not firewalled by antinutrients and fiber

No, he's right. The amount of seeds you need to produce, is way too much, for what land we actually used. You also need to remember that people weren't eating modern versions, but the old junky versions.

so cold pressed seed oils or extracted seed oils from cooking seeds which is documented to be made since the persian age and probably even earlier, or the over abundant olive oil of the mediterranean or peanut oil in asia didnt exist huh?

unsaturated fats are oils, saturated fats are solid fats...we had both and have eaten both since time immemorial

and they were most likely used for cosmetic, mechanical (like lubrication and lamps) and ritual practices. How much oil do you think antique machinery could squeeze out of seeds considering that even modern industrial chemical methods get at best 80% of oil content?

they were used for food and there was amphoras full of them....in my country they made their own oils from seeds and olives from ordinary presses and in mills and they were kept in bottles ranging from 15liters to 50 liters (pic rel) and were the primary source of cooking fats. Animal fats were very valuable and were used primarily for storage or preservation purposes of other foods.
