Close Bench
Dips
Standing behind the neck tricep extension with either ez bar or dumbell
dumbbell kickback is the memest of all meme exercises, dont even think about doin that shit
trust me, waste of fukken time
I used to think this too but I've actually grown to appreciate them over the years. Of all tri excercises it's probably the one i get the best mind muscle connection with. I don't do them that often but I like throwing them in from time to time usually as a burnout excercise.
yeah its a piece of shit exercise
do (weighted) dips, if cant do then bench dips
some kind of overhead extensions, either with cable or dumbbell
skullcrushers
and youre pretty much covered.
if you bench press like you should close grip bp is not that important, did that too for a while but beside fatique me more havent really seen any additional benefit
I do them between sets of rope pushdowns. Do while standing and holding something with one arm and they work well with a weight you can only push 8 reps out of.
There's just so many fundamental things about lifting that someone who does kickbacks doesn't understand yet. It's useless to try to explain to the them why it's not a good lift.
I dont got to a gym and just have dumbbells. My bench is cheap and I cant do lying, kickback doesnt feel right to me and the double hand over head isnt working great since my set only goes up to 50.
Why does no one recommend a standing skullcrusher or one handed overhead, whatever its called.
Ill have to buy something in the future, perhaps a better bench. I just dont get why they are not recommended. They feel like they are isolating the triceps. Basically the lying tricepts extensions but standing.
yeah I also train at home, when I havent figured out where to do normal dips I also did bench dips with 40kilos in my lap and shit. you should be able to do seated dumbbell overhead tricep extensions and dumbbell skullcrushers tho
What do y'all think of the floor press for triceps? I love it because I can take it always to failure and just easily drop it. And I feel like it has the most potential for progression of weight.
As far as I know, it never did. That's why I translated it from redneck (y'all) to city speak (you all).
I was really hoping to talk about the efficacy of floor pressing for tricep growth.
Anyone else here have shit tricep insertions? Mine insert really high and i have a giant gap where the horseshoe is. Any advice for this? They always look small no matter what i do.
are rope pushdowns enough
Not for the long head, you need to add something like lying tricep extensions or an overhead extension
Just bench
last one is the best by far. not hard to do but builds ur muscle the most.
Close grip bench mogs these all, I wish I still had a gym membership and not just dumbbells at home.
For tris I most like

I cant feel shit doing those, try them every once in a while and it indeed sucks. Close grip bench or skullcrushers work so much better.

They feel good but fricked up my scapula
I do them between sets of rope pushdowns. Do while standing and holding something with one arm and they work well with a weight you can only push 8 reps out of.
Sure going to be interesting when im not a fatass and I have to do extra workouts for muscles because one just isnt enough.
>Gets filtered by kickbacks
They're super easy and require next to no weight at all. You must be a special kind of moronic.
lol moron, they are ineffective, that was my point
you must have quite a few chromosomes, huh?
There's just so many fundamental things about lifting that someone who does kickbacks doesn't understand yet. It's useless to try to explain to the them why it's not a good lift.
yeah, I'd say it's the quintessential noob lift of them all, next time someone posts a thread like that I make sure to include it.
They're definitely at the bottom of the list but they're actually not bad at the end of your sets after your triceps are fricked

buy rings and do ring dips
Ill have to buy something in the future, perhaps a better bench. I just dont get why they are not recommended. They feel like they are isolating the triceps. Basically the lying tricepts extensions but standing.
bench and dips
is being able to do more than 20 bench dips in a row impressive?
no, not even the slightest. but you gotta start somewhere.
try placin plates in your laps and you should eventually graduate to normal dips
i'm exercising at home and i don't have many ways to train triceps.
bench dips and push ups. i'll look into adding weight thanks
yeah I also train at home, when I havent figured out where to do normal dips I also did bench dips with 40kilos in my lap and shit. you should be able to do seated dumbbell overhead tricep extensions and dumbbell skullcrushers tho
i will thanks
i'm stil trying to find the right routine
Lying triceps extensions make my elbow hurt
Standard tricep extensions always killed my elbows but I can go heavy on the cross chest variant without any pain.

>y'all
It means you all in city speak. I'm asking everyone.
When did “yall” become city speak? I grew up in the country and have been laughed at by people who even grew up in southern cities for saying yall
As far as I know, it never did. That's why I translated it from redneck (y'all) to city speak (you all).
I was really hoping to talk about the efficacy of floor pressing for tricep growth.
It's used by woke city dwellers nowadays because it's non-gendered and makes them feel folksy.

which gives more tricep gains bench or OHP?
Bench because it's heavier.
you have more ROM on OHP
They both go from your chest to full lockout.
OHP because it focuses on triceps more
No it doesn't. And even if it did benching is so much heavier that it wouldn't matter.
benching is heaving because the chest is carrying the lift you dumb b***h
No shit, that's how compounds work. In the ohp your triceps get help from the delts.
But this is easy and somewhat fun too
This one's god tier, but don't let it be easy. Dorian Yates weighed himself down with a dip belt so he could keep progressing the weight.
>wearing a dip belt for rope pushdown
???
He made himself heavier so he could add more weight to his pushdown without just lifting himself off the ground
Ah makes sense
I like this screenshot because it makes the center guy look like he's vowing vengeance for using the two machines he needs
>I like this screenshot because it makes the center guy look like he's vowing vengeance for using the two machines he needs
KEK
focus on the big compounds, try out close grip bench and rope pushdowns.
forget the dumbell kickback.
the dumbbell kickback is a b***h to do
I do the vertical rope machine and twist my wrist into the pull. Hits the triceps good while keeping the bicep warm in between curl sets.
