Unfortunately there is no protein outside animal products that is good for you, dead serious. Plant protein has horrible amino acid profile or is loaded with harmful compounds, actually both in most cases. No other way around it. Vegetarians can get great protein with dairy and eggs, vegans are bound to become malnourished in the short term and seriously ill in the long term.

Trying to get huge while vegan seems so contradictory. The diet has some health advantages but you really need to watch calories and not frick with your digestion, eating 40g of pea protein or something every day is plainly fricking stupid. Better just to go back to eating meat and eggs for a while.

lmao morons keep up the cope

is that supposed to be a body of someone who "muscled up" by eating plants?

...beans? Beans are harmful to your health?

I don't think anyone disputes that plant sources are less efficient but looking around at the motherfrickers that don't eat plants I'm going to take a wild guess and say anything is better than the standard American diet.

I was a very strict vegetarian for around 6 years and it was the best I've ever felt. Now I eat chicken and too much processed shit but while I don't feel as good, I'm doing better than when I was just a fatfrick so we'll call it a net win.

I recommend vegetarians drink a frickton of milk because it's high quality protein and you need to milk a cow or it will suffer. And we're not ending animal agriculture any time soon so we may as well make the best of the byproducts.

Yeah, beans have lectins and phytates.

I'm not concerned with lectins and phytates, they're associated with positive health markers. That doesn't mean they're good for you, it probably means people that eat a shitload of beans aren't eating the stuff that's really bad for them if they're avoiding cardiovascular disease and such.

Beans are chock-full of protease inhibitors. Any protein you do consume is not allowed to break down and digest, getting passed-through as poop.

It seems hard to believe that vegetarians just aren't absorbing any of the protein they eat. It's well known that it's inefficient but are you saying it is entirely indigestible? If you are saying that, I'm wondering how I grew muscle without any protein.

I'm open to the idea that it's really suboptimal for gains, and I'm not going to bother pointing to vegan strongmen or something because they're roided out and their body is engineered by drugs to be hyper efficient at using protein sources. That said, something fricky is going on if natty vegetarians and vegans are driving most of their gains through beans and lentils.

Again, I'll admit it's inefficient as I've given up on getting my protein solely through plants and drink a shitload of milk and devour small birds, but I'm finding it really hard to believe that beans are bad for your health or just don't result in any protein being absorbed. If you're claiming it's inefficient I agree with you.

Yeah, I miswrote, it doesn't completely block all protein absorption, although it is significant.

Nta but can you post a study where is shown that beans "significally block protein"

Or you could just let its own baby drink it like nature intended. Or just not rape it and put it in that situation in the first place.

i get the anthony's pea protein and mix it with water
tastes like shit, i dont care foodwise, i like tofu, seitan, rice+beans. TVP is ok but makes me weirdly constipated so i don't have it much. if i'm feeling lazy, i might get chik'n nuggets but i try not to regularly

peanut butter bulking, nothing feels better. put that shit in oatmeal in the morning, have a foldover with lunch and with a banana for dessert. love me some PB

All of them are good because they don’t cause heart disease or require animals to die.

Literally the opposite. Carbohydrates CAUSE CVD and crops you use to eat your LGBT rainbow require 4 quadrillion animal deaths a year.

Nah, there's no evidence for that unless if by carbohydrates you mean foods like twinkies which are full of added sugars

Mock meats have great protein content usually
    Seitan
    Onions milk
    Tofu
    Lentis

There is zero actual difference in plant and animal protein when it comes to the real world. Any amino acid difference people like to talk about doesn't actually matter unless you only eat like 600 calories of one food every day and nothing else.
