i have never met a serious runner who advocates for barefoot running
it's purely a IST scam from coping fat fricks who "run" barefoot on a treadmill at 5 mph for 10 minutes

realtalk OP just check all the big brands for their mid tier road running shoe models and try to find last years shoe model on their site or on amazon. I can usually replace my rooning shoes every 250 miles or so for like $60

also know that shoe price can vary by color scheme; the hi-liter yellow shoes are usually the cheapest because they're ugly lel and you'll never wear them as a casual shoe

good call, i gravitate towards ISTg shoes and i should stop
i will look again and give chineslop shoes another chance before going for amazon. i don't think i could shop for shoes online because i need to actually make sure the shoes fit my foot shape first and that doesn't happen often

        All whitin are only $40.

not available in my country but i'll get them online if it comes down to it

        >hi-liter yellow shoes are usually the cheapest
I bought a pair of neon yellow Asics because I thought they were extremely cringe and it would be funny to wear them. They are like alarm bells on my feet obnoxiously screaming "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME" which contrasts sharply vs my reserved personality.

You explained it yourself. The cheap shoes hurt your feet. The shoe makers know this, and make the good ones cost more because they know you don't want to hurt your feet.

You ever noticed how you can walk and sprint in just about anything but you can’t run or jog in anything but expensive running shoes?

It’s almost like “running” and “jogging” were sold to the public as a way to get healthy when in reality it was a scheme to sell shoes. Weird.

I'm sort of new to running, used to run heaps years ago but I've put on 45 lbs since then. I jog in cheap runners and on pavement and my knees feel like exploding. My feet don't hurt at all, it's my shins and knees that feel like death. Any advice anons? Would buying expensive runners actually fix this or is it the pavement that's the issue? Or should I legit run barefoot?

You can just buy cheap running shoes and buy inserts that support can be reused. If you underpronate (the outer of your soles will be the most worn out) then you have high arches and need appropriate support
