            There are several studies. After reading SEVERAL studies my amateur conclusion is that there is no difference between the movements and it would be very stupid to say that barbell bench press is somehow inferior to other movements.

            Some studies show slight difference between the movements and some show none. Tricep activation seems to always be greater in barbell bench press though

        After almost exactly one year of lifting I just realized last week that I haven’t been going at it with the proper intensity. I’ve been sticking to the program and if it says X reps, I do them and leave it at that.

        Now I’m more or less going to failure or close to it for each set and it’s absurd but it feels like an awakening. No more music or audiobooks just grinding it out. It’s only been a week but I feel more motivated and I think it’ll make a world of difference.

            It’s weird to me that I didn’t realize this before. It isn’t like I wasn’t trying hard in the gym but I was doing it almost prescriptive and not really feeling it and pushing myself to the point I think you need to get to for good results.

            I have to say that headphones were holding me back too. I felt like I wasn’t 100% in the moment and music and audiobooks were distracting me too much. I always lifted with headphones and I notice I’m more into it without them.

    I have no problem with the guy. I have a problem with his content being shoved down my throat everywhere. It makes me not want to watch him out of principle. It doesn't feel like it was organically recommended to me by the algo.

      It was organically recommended to me and I watched like 3 of his videos in their entirety right away. After I saw a about a week's worth the appeal dropped off massively but that's still a lot more time spent than the average new channel I discover. The algorithm likes when you watch a long time.
