If that is what you want just pack a fricksack and hike.
I do 5km every day with 14kg, except for the weekends where I usually do 8, 13 and 26km depending on my energy level/weather.
Could I do (v-)steps on a small aerobic step instead? I've got no threadmill, and walking in circles seems boring. > As much as you can handle
Like what I use for barbell shrugs or what?

Bodyweight or over 100kg per hand for 20m >advanced
1.25x bodyweight or over 120kg per hand >elite
1.5x bodyweight or over 150kg per hand
A farmer's walk is about equivalent to a trap bar deadlift of the same weight assuming you have proportional grip strength (the pickup is slightly easier than a trap bar deadlift because the handles are right by your side)
My farmers PR is 145kg per hand for 15m while my conventional dead PR is 270
Yeah, that's as long as the outdoor space is. Couldn't hold it after the pickup on the return leg, smooth handles on the ones at my gym as well which are fricking bastards
Got 130kg per hand there and back beltless+chalkless though
I do roughly 1/3 max deadlift weight per hand or lighter for 50' trips. If the weight is lighter I move quicker and do more trips. Heavy is best, I do these all the time.
How do I quantify these shits? My gym has the proper farmer handles but only about 11 meteres of runway, do just try to increase the weight over time or focus on laps/time taken? Idk how much the handles themselves weigh but I load up 60kg on each handle and do that for 2 laps a set for 3 sets.
Not planning on competing, just looking to get some extra volume across the entire posterior chain as well as some forearm work, does what you said still apply?
Remember it's supposed to be an explosive/power exercise, so still try and move quickly
Given you only have a 10m run I'd probably focus on building up weight
I do this with heavy bags. Feels harder to balance the heavy bags since the weight is distributed over a larger area so I have to be strict in my form to avoid tipping over.
What's a good weight and what distance should I aim for? I've not done these yet but I'm going to incorporate them into my workout soon enough
As much as you can handle without your shoulders giving out, and at least 50 seconds worth of walking
So you don't aim for a set distance like 1km?
This is a full body workout moron you walk for a set amount of time
You should be going at more or less the same speed the whole time, or whether you frame your goal in terms of a distance or a time is up to you
>or
*so

>Hike with kids
>Carry them on shoulders when they get tired
>Have great family time while also working out
>1km
homie do you know how taxing this shit is at decent weight?

does it work shoulders?
can i just hold them and count to 60?
No.
>Good weight
Just pick up two cardio bunnies
>Good distance
From the gym to your house
That's 20ks up a hill, bugger that
>No incline kidnappers walk

Were do you even get dumbbells like that
You use farmer carry handles than can be loaded with plates
Post body

Lol
Lmao, even

>Is a homosexual
I am like this by default because I am 105kg. Whenever I walk for more than 10km, I get a full-body workout.
>weighted vest makers in shambles
lmao. Same.
Dummbells smack my hips
Kettlebells are gud
This, kettlebell active arm holds with farmer's walks burn like a motherfricker.
My gym doesn't have heavy enough kettlebells
>does nothing for hypertrophy
>working for hypertrophy
what is the point of this exercise? Does it help aesthetically at all?
>What's the point of an exercise that work out the entire body?
Don't do this bros, it will make you shorter by compressing your spine over time
I know this ist bait, but for the morons Herr: Just do deadhangs.
Isn't it better to suspend yourself by the neck from the ceiling?
If you want to be taller, yes. If you hang from your arms, you're just getting an arm workout.

Weight and distance, time becomes relevant for competing.

Alright that makes sense , cheers bud

I only have a pair of 20lb dumbbells. Can I do this or should I just give up on lifting?
Also interested in the answer to this. I'd imagine you can just walk for longer?
20lb dumbbell farmers walk will do next to nothing. You should be over 100lbs minimum.
do they even make 100lb dumbbells??
Yes, but you should be doing these with farmers walk handles that are loadable or a trap bar.
>farmers walk handles
thank you, will buy some
Black person my gym has 70kg dumbbells
Buy 5 gallon buckets and get some sand or rocks or something
I WANNA DO FARMERS WALKS SO FRICKING BAD BUT I DON'T HAVE SPACE IN MY FRICKING GYM DUNGEON AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Do them outside
