Define slop. Let’s say I go and buy fresh croissant every morning with a choco milk or OJ is ruining my health?

                Anonymous

                >Define slop
                Heavily processed, unnatural.
                > fresh croissant
What went into making said croissant? What was the process? It's a gamble, I'd bet store bought croissants are anything but fresh, just pumped full of preservatives. Some bakeries adds a lot of bullshit into their products too, usually a lot of processed sugar. Definitely a gamble.
                >choco milk
Probably full of stabilizers and processed sugar. I'd avoid.
                >OJ
Not as bad as the previous example but juice is processed nonetheless. It lacks fiber and a lot of nutritional value whole fruit has, you're consuming the sugar content of many fruits you wouldn't eat in one sitting in their natural form. That's not to mention most of "juice" in the store isn't actual 100% juice but sugar water with some juice in it.

Notice how all of these can be healthy if you make them yourself at home with minimal processing and additives. This is the sad reality we live in - mass produced food is made to turn a profit, not to be good for you. Learn to cook.

This is only a problem if you’re not lifting weights. You need “somewhere to put” the protein or it can damage your liver.
If you lift, your muscles use it.

He is not wrong though. "People" are not bodybuilders. To maintain just completely normal, average, healthy body and physique it requires something like 30-60g protein. If I recall correctly 60g was for olympic athletes, so not bodybuilders but people who do sports for living. So it's pretty safe to say sub-olympic athlete level literal normies will do fine with again, something between 30-60g of protein.

Now protein "excess" is probably a little bit farfetched. Especially when we are talking about which one is statistically more likely. I think the number of people who are eating upwards of 300g protein daily are so incredibly minor that I have somewhat hard time believing its more likely. But then again even if you eat complete goyslop you PROBABLY do get 30g of protein from just absolute trash so the amount of people who are legitimately deficient is close to zero as well.

      Anonymous

      >60g was for olympic athletes
Well we can immediately disregard this uninitiated normalgay dreck by this statement alone. Olympic athletes mangle their bodies with the sheer amount of training they do, there's no way that 60g a day is sufficient for them.

    Click bait
He talks about people who want to max out healthy life spans. Yes, very high protein consumption and specifically isoleucine (iirc) is detrimental to a long life. But so is playing rugby or any other contact sport or slaving away in the office for countless hours. In short: the lifting lifestyle which focuses on hypertrophy is not ideal for longevity. But aiming for longevity denies you becoming a mass monster. What do you want /fit?

Carbs are a non-essential macro and should be limited. I continue to grow on a keto diet while having no energy issues lifting 7 times a week with a gentlemans split. Dont listen to moronic body building cheaters. People on steroids grow who dont lift grow more than natty lifters. The fricking diet aint got shit to do with their gains. THEY'RE liars and frauds and you should never get nutrition and health advice for those short cut taking scammers unless you want to be roid monkeys like them.

It's just one vegan named moxyte.

Vegans hate protein because the best sources of protein are animal-based. Vegans love carbs because they think shilling carbs encourages people to eat grains and fruit.

It's a psyop. It's common knowledge that you need protein and carbs to get big. Now we're all small and weak because we think it's one or the other.

Carbs have no benefit for weight lifting. Unless by 'big' you mean obese. Carbs are essential for fattening cattle.

It's true, so many young people over-consuming protein when it's not even necessary and overworking their kidneys in the process. Just eat a balanced diet of whole foods at your required caloric surplus or deficit. If you're roiding it's a different story obviously. But in that case you probably aren't too concerned about the negative side effects to begin with.

Look, from all the reputable people I have heard from, I will get the best muscle protein synthesis from 4-5 protein feedings a day, with ~25g per meal and for my bodyweight ~140g total a day. If this amount is minorly bad for my kidneys, I do not care. In the grand scheme of things I eat well, have 3-4 alcoholic beverages a week, and very rarely have to take any sort of medicine.

Trying to gain muscle optimally and what's needed for most people are radically different numbers. If you are at a good weight / body fat percent and don't care about muscle mass, you don't need anywhere near the typical 0.7-1g/lb bodyweight recommendation for gaining muscle. For those sorts of people, there are plenty of protein sources that come with unhealthy fats and other issues that it isn't unreasonable to go a bit light on the protein. Pretty much all health advice is dependent on who is listening to it. For a typical American, eating less of every type of food is a good thing.

        Blood tests.
Overworked kidneys don't present immediate symptoms, they just degrade faster than they would naturally.

        Blood tests.
Overworked kidneys don't present immediate symptoms, they just degrade faster than they would naturally.

Easiest way to tell without bloodwork is does your piss look frothy and have a strong nitrate smell. It effectively means you're overeating protein and pissing it out. It's more common with diabetics, but does happen in normals.
It doesn't mean it's super unhealthy either, as proven by the fact i get kidney function test done yearly and i'm in above average function range for someone who is over thirty.
It's still not good for your kidneys if you are overeating extreme excess protein daily.
You can help counteract this simply by drinking water to a large degree.

Above average kidney function apparently means drinking two glasses of water the moment I wake up, one glass before bed (normal amount during daytime) and I don't smoke weed or drink alcohol.
