I train kick boxing 2 hours a day 4x a week and bjj 3x a week about an hour how the frick can i recover faster i want to add strenght training into my routine as well.

I can ask my boss for trt but idk if they will let me fight...
steroids.
you will burn out and get injured regardless
When i do burn out ill focus more on surfing and sky diving right now i want to get in as many fights as i can.
Periodize training, lift off season and focus on fighting when you're closer to competing. theres probably a program out there for that
>Barbell type heavy lifting shit is just for beauty and will make you a worse fighter
I notice this mentality is common among fighting guys, dunno why that is. Sprinters squat heavy to sprint faster, Basketball and NFL players also lift to increase explosiveness and force production, why would fighting be different?
It taxes your nervous system and is time you could be training or sparring. Also fighting has weight classes. You wanna go up and fight people above you? We strength train with calisthenics, dumbells, gymnastics. MMA and striking are a different animal to football etc.
Gymnastics is more technically difficult to learn and taxing than doing a few cleans and didlys off season though. I have a hard time believing that any athlete who needs to be explosive wont benefit from that. This kid does BJJ and strength trains with barbell lifts and olympic lifts https://www.instagram.com/tackett.andrew/
I meant gymnastics type exercises. I personally don't do them the Firas Zahabi and a few other high level mma coaches recommend them instead of barbell training. I assume they mean some components of gymnastics training not legit learning to swing around the bar or whatever lol.
Yeah a bjj only guy will totally. Pure grappling isn't striking or mma. Pure grappler can totally benefit from Sl or ss or whatever heavy barbell routines. Professional strikers and mma guys don't do that for a reason but a BJJ only guy or a wrestling only guy can totally benefit from it.
In mma and striking it is a tradeoff. I spar with lifters all the time and I can slap them around because not only do I spend more time training, I have a bigger gas tank. Yeah they could put me to sleep with a good hit but they can't land them and gas quickly.
When I get older and retire from fighting I'll probably trade 3 of my striking trainings for lifting for health and looking good and being better in bjj.
You basically can't
I train MMA about 5 times a week, if you are really training hard then strength training will take a back seat
Or roid
Eat more
Dude training at that pace is unsustainable as a natty
Hop on 500mg of test
You can do calisthenics before/after workouts. Barbell type heavy lifting shit is just for beauty and will make you a worse fighter. You need longer sleep at night and take a nap in the day.
Kick rocks roid troony. In Thailand they train kickboxing 12x a week plus 15km run 6x a week. Op has a normal hobbyist wanting to go amateur schedule.
you can buy steroids over the counter in thailand lmao, thailand is literally notorious for being the place ufc fighters go to duck usada
Not over the counter but yes they are readily available. They don't take them though. Maybe 1% or less of thai fighters roid. I have several friends who are pro fighters in Thailand and I lived/trained there for years.
>Maybe 1% or less of thai fighters roid
Utter delusional
I meant all not the top 1% you see on western TV.
No one cares. You're still a rude moronic Black person.
>I meant all not the top 1% you see on western TV.
I am aware and you are delusional
I don't think you understand how many pro fighters there are in Thailand or how poor they are. Most of them can't afford gear.
Thais are known for jucing.
>Cope stereotypes from people who got their ass kicked is somehow inherently true.
They're also all 5'7 and 130lbs. When you're just a skeleton with little to no muscle you can go forever. When you actually have muscles you need to recover them
They are skeletons because they run and vox instead of liftings dawg.
>Dude training at that pace is unsustainable as a natty
That's simply not true
Look up the types of PED stacks the pro mma fighters run. Yes they all cycle. A lot of compounds available now that don’t show up on tests after a day or two. And the stacks will be aimed at recovery to allow training for hours every day, without anything that will reduce cardio capacity.

sorry bud, either dedicate yourself to bjj and kickboxing, or to strength training.
trying to do both a martial art and strength training at the same time will yield diminishing results in both activities. ask yourself what is important to you, then focus on it.
You’re moronic,
OP strength train only x2 a week and ask ur coach for some training magazines.
No he's 100% right. Every elite MMA coach will tell you that you can't bodybuild and fight. Calisthenics, gymnastics, and lighter Dumbell type stuff can be integrated but that PR, lift your max, heavy compound shit you guys do is not going to help op. It kills gains.
If he wanted to just do bjj, sure get jacked. Heavy strength training is detrimental to mma and Kickboxing
You’re moronic and I know this for a fact you are moronic. Every college/Olympic wrestler has a lift 3-5 time’s a week in college and almost daily if you’re in the Olympics. You are a lying sack of shit with monkey brains. You can and have to do both at the same time or you will break your shit. You shouldn’t lift before your fights, that’s it. Literally every wrestler lifts, Becsuse if they don’t they get injured
>if he wanted to focus on grappling he could get jacked but heavy weights are detrimental to mma and Kickboxing
>elites collegiate grapplers do X
To call your iq Black person tier would be an insult to Black folk.
Youre a fricking racialist frick yourself man monkey brain homosexual
Ok and you're a low iq illiterate "person" who is inferior to Black folk. Wrestling is not MMA or striking. Just because heavy lifting is good for pure grapplers doesn't make it good for stiking or mma. None of the best fighters lift heavy and the only examples you can point to were on enough steroids to not need to lift heavy.
Tyson was better after lifting, and he done 1000 shrogs a day so shut the frick up, mma is wrestling with some kicks and punching
Tyson who? Mike Tyson who famously did only calisthenics and 1 light Dumbell exercise in high reps? Lmao way to prove yourself wrong lol.
Also no mma is mma. It is not wrestling any more than a car is windows and doors.
Also stfu I have a bachelor in crimal justice you fricking butthole post degree then comment, from a d1 school
But you're illiterate and moronic so that means your degree is worthless because an illiterate moron could get it.
Pullup both of you, I can take u both with myself u fricking asshokes rude morherfuvjers literally no chill just yapping being dicks dude gives me ur address
I am the same guy and you came at me hostile first. And no you couldn't take me, fighting is most of what I do in life. I train bjj 3x a week, Wrestling 1x a week, striking 6-7x a week.
You started talking shit, don't cry when you get shit back when you pretend to be an expert.
If you hadn't started hostile you wouldn't have found hostilities. Simple as.
Yeah? I do bjj 5x a week, striking 6x a week and wrestling 2-3 times a week. Just come on me bro
I wrestle since I was in midle school u donkey brain fricker . You doned mma 6x a week? Oh wow very strong special boy you are huh,
OK? And? Wrestling isn't fighting. It is great and cool you do it but it doesn't mean you know anything about fighting and a striker could sleep you on your feet and a grappler could sleep you after the takedown. Who cares that you used to do Wrestling? You don't fight. You couldn't beat a fighter. Stay in your lane. If you gave advice only on wrestling which you do know, people would respect you and think your cool. Instead you insult people and tell them things that aren't applicable to another sport.
D1 In college u donkey brain
Shaddap or i tombstone pile drive you through a coffee table
Only bjj you all do is give BJ every week if you know what I mean donkey brain duckers
Kys libtard
you know every competitive college and olympic wrestler is on gear, right?
Not everyone in college, but it is common and nessisary, I wrestled d1. So fricking what you know your dad literally came inside your mother? I have literal proof your dad nutted in her Atleast once. Get it? No one fricking cares everyone knows. Next you’re Gona tell me Arnold was on roids to
>you have to take performance enhancing drugs a
thinking of just doing 3x a week in the morning before a quick swim and sauna session
i have a red neck gas tank
i want to focus on prevetative things like knees over toes and shoulder shit not to get injured too badly. Working on sleep right now chef! unfortuantly i cant nap because i work full time but as soon as fight camps start ill take off
will take a look
ill see if my dr can justify getting me trt
cuz he a winner lol
Next spring train for a marathon. Do said marathon. Go back to martial arts. Gas everyone out.
Running cardio is not the same as grappling cardio. Not in the slightest.
You need to have some technique only classes with no focus on cardio or strength. You don't need to do cardio and strength every day. Take one day when you only do shadowboxing. Then you can add some strength training the day before.
Eat more CARBS. The manlets here don't want you to know this simple trick.
the only way is to provide your body with more energy, the more you eat the more is available for repair, you can push growth factors really high if you eat alot, i cant say you wont gain any fat, but you will immediately notice a difference if you eat more food , particularly carbs. whih not only provide energy, but also stimulate growth factors like igf1.
Honestly Op, I wanted to be a pro fighter one day. Kicked all my bad habits cleaned up my diet and would do Muay Thai and BRazilian Jiujitsu everyday for combined 4-6 hours. That’s when I learned that no matter how much will power I had the body didn’t give a frick. I was at my limit. I said na g, will power baby I quit smoking and changed my life I could do this. Then I got injured. That was my body telling me to stop being a homosexual. I was eating 4-5x a day and I think I learned what catabolism or whatever they call it, felt like. Muscles felt over burnt to the point of feeling rusty and I was still losing weight. There are those who say you can’t outwork a bad diet, 97-99% the time, yeah but if you train like a madman that’s horseshit. Your body will be so depleted and begging for calories that you’ll have to eat trash to get it. Sorry to rant on but that’s when I learned that you have to take performance enhancing drugs at that level to compete. Your situation doesn’t sound as bad to be honest. Eat more and rest a lot.
Gotta build up to it can't just do it all at once have you held that training schedule for 6months? If not don't even bother trying to add more to the workload
At most you should be doing a lot of yoga and mobility work after training to facilitate recovery
ALSO you can train that way just don't go all out its all about technique in training
Similar volume of training as you. A few things helped.
1. Figure out what your goals are. Are you in a competition cycle where you're training at 90-100% intensity at every session? If so, are which of the three is taking the backseat during this cycle. You want to arrive to your comp peaking whether its for MT or BJJ.
2. Learn how to sleep better. Sleep is fricking king. Nap in the afternoon, nap whenever you can. Create a routine that allows you to sleep as long as your body needs at night. No phone, no alcohol, taking a cold shower, etc...
3. Get a nutritionist that understands the needs of an athlete and your goals. You don't want to be shredded all the time. They will help you set up your meals for the volume and intensity of your current cycle of training.
Collagen is the only supplement that speeds up my recovery (especially after injuring my wrists/knuckles), but it's pretty expensive.
You have to sacrifice something to get another thing. Youll need steroids to train full time and lift.
If i were you, I would just keep training martial arts for 5 years consistently until your body is pretty well adapted to it, then titrate in lifting slowly.
T. Bjj competitor and mma LARPER
Why is the best grappler the world has ever since wearing ‘winning’ boxing gloves
rest faster idk
Next couple of weeks i will try to work in like 30 minute S&C routine and a 30 minute swim as well as sauna and hot tub time in the am. Train mma in the PM and ice bath after. Will see a nutritunist and ask my doctor about trt
You cant. I do 2h mma 6 days a week and TRY to do 1h cardio or 1h lifting 5 days a week. I also cant overeat to stay in weight for future fights. So I'm always skelly, always tired (8h of sleep and 2h of naps daily at least) and often in a sour mood.
Embrace the skelly mode or embrace the roids. I took the former since I could be tested.
